Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant inside MGM Grand Hotel & Casino welcomed one of the most celebrated professional soccer players last night, as Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo stopped into the modern Cantonese restaurant to relish on signature bites and libations. Taking a much needed vacation after his outstanding performance in the 2015 World Cup matchups in Brazil, the talented Portuguese knockout enjoyed a casual night out with friends, without the company of his stunning supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Arriving to the restaurant just after 10:30 p.m., the footballer and his group sampled the Crispy Duck Salad, Jasmine Tea Smoked Short Ribs and Roasted Chilean Seabass to name a few. Seen sipping on a selection of wines throughout evening, Ronaldo and his guests chatted animatedly as they moved onto the dessert course, topping off the evening with the restaurant’s famed Exotic Fruit Platter.

Fully enjoying his time at the intimate dining destination, Ronaldo graciously thanked the Hakkasan staff and was spotted leaving the restaurant just after midnight.

Thursday, July 24, “Set Your Life To Music (SYLTM)” summer concert series continued with a performance by Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller at Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Local band Black Boots kicked off the night showcasing their hybrid musical style, a combination of electronic, dance, urban, industrial indie and big room. Following, Malcolm “Mac Miller” McCormick, took the mophie stage filling Boulevard Pool with his signature throwback sound. The young emcee performed hits including “Red Dot Music,” “Watching Movies,” “Donald Trump” and “Best Day Ever.”

On Wednesday, July 23 Actor Anthony Anderson, star of the upcoming shows Black-ish on ABC and Food Network’s Eating America, joined Chicken Soup for the Soul® at The Foundation Room in Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino to celebrate the launch of its newest titles, Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Dog Did What? and Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cat Did What? by Amy Newmark.

Anderson greeted guests as he arrived to the party, cracking jokes while making his way to a VIP (Very Important Pet Lovers) “green grass” carpet. He posed for photos with excited fans as well as Chicken Soup for the Soul executives. Anderson and Newmark stopped to chat about their collaboration on an upcoming Chicken Soup for the Soul book that will spotlight the power of forgiveness. He mentioned that he will not only write the foreword but also help gather the heart-warming stories for which the brand is renowned and write his own anecdotal piece.

Anderson stopped for a special photo with Staff Sergeant Michael Malarsie and his service dog Xxon. The duo has been selected to represent the Chicken Soup for the Soul sponsored “Guide & Hearing Dog” category at The American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards on September 27. After being blinded and wounded in combat, Sergeant Malarsie met Xxon who helped him return to work as the only blind Airman serving active duty in the Air Force. Anderson took the time to thank them for their service and congratulate them on the nomination.

The event also commemorated the company’s participation at SuperZoo 2014, showcasing the brand’s signature pet food line. As guests mixed, mingled and took in The Foundation Room’s unrivaled view of the Las Vegas Strip, they enjoyed “Barktinis” and gourmet fare created with Chicken Soup for the Soul’s delectable line of soups and sauces.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet CEO Chris Mitchell spoke about the brand’s current projects including an upcoming feature film and a new TV show titled, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Food & Family. The show will air on PBS beginning August 9.

Just in time for summer, the Four Star grownup burger bar, Anthony’s Gourmet Burgers & Brews at M Resort Spa Casino, has introduced two new masterpiece burgers, a killer crab sandwich, six seasonal craft beers, and a variety of appetizers, salads, desserts, cocktails and breakfast items.

Front and center on the menu are the brand new Porter Burger ($13), an Angus patty topped with porter-poached hot pastrami, aged Swiss, coleslaw and a zesty mustard sauce on a toasted pretzel bun, and T.G.B. Burger ($11), a hand-packed turkey burger glazed with Crabbies Ginger Beer, crushed avocado, sprouts, oven-dried tomato and green goddess aioli on a soft potato bun. Also new to the menu is the soft shell crab sandwich ($11), a seasonal sandwich featuring two crispy soft shell crabs on a toasted hoagie roll with spicy remoulade, sliced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.

“What makes our burgers so special is the savory combination of the Angus beef paired with beer-infused toppings like porter-poached hot pastrami, stout-braised short rib, Sam Adams Lager-braised wild mushrooms and IPA-battered jalapeños,” said Executive Chef Mark Sandoval. “We take it up a notch by incorporating various brews into many of our homemade sauces, like the zesty pilsner sauce on our Pilsner Burger, the Blue Moon orange mayo on our Hefeweizen Burger, and the amber ale mornay sauce on our Red Ale Burger.”

Six new 12-ounce seasonal brews, just $5 each, are the perfect complement to any of the delicious burger entrees. Brews include the refreshingly light Anchor Summer Beer, Brooklyn Brewing’s popular Brooklyn Summer Ale, the crisp pilsner-style Sierra Nevada Summerfest, Magic Hat’s elderberry-infused Elder Betty, the locally brewed and gluten-free Joseph James Foxtail Ale and the sparkling Crispin Pacific Pear Cider. For the cocktail connoisseur, new libations ($7 each) include the Jalapeño Margarita made with fresh jalapeño, fresh-squeezed and lightly sweetened lemon and lime juices and St-Germain elderflower liqueur, the Cruzan Rum Lemonade with Cruzan white rum, fresh lime juice and lemon-lime soda, and the Coco Loso featuring Ciroc coconut vodka and fresh pineapple juice.

In the appetizers section, guests will find new items such as the caraway and sea salt-crusted jumbo house-made pretzel ($7), mini corn dog bites ($8) served with honey mustard and sugarcane ketchup, chicken taquitos ($8) and a hot cup of creamy New England clam chowder ($7). Garden fresh salads include the taco salad ($11), featuring a crispy tortilla filled with shredded lettuce, seasoned beef, cheddar cheese, sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo, and the small garden salad ($4) tossed with carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers and a choice of dressing.

The petite lemon meringue pie ($7) with a sweet sablé crust, lemon curd, Italian meringue and raspberry gelee will go head-to-head with the mixed berry cobbler ($7), topped with baked streusel and vanilla bean gelato, and the mouthwatering carrot cake ($6) touting layers of cream cheese filling and a fresh pineapple compote.

Anthony’s Gourmet Burgers & Brews also serves breakfast daily from 7 to 11 a.m. New items to look for include the Scottish smoked salmon plate with vine ripened tomatoes, capers, shaved onion, slice cucumber, a hard-boiled egg, cream cheese and a choice of bagel ($13), huevos rancheros featuring two eggs served over medium atop a crispy corn tortilla with refried beans, queso fresco and ranchero sauce ($10), breakfast burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs, chorizo and cheddar cheese served alongside hot breakfast potatoes ($10) and the breakfast bagel served with two eggs and a choice of bacon, ham or sausage ($12).
