Political Lightning Rod Bill Maher Performs In Vegas

This past weekend saw the return of the hilarious Bill Maher to The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort. The comedian who seemed excited to be back in Vegas, or as he calls it “the adult playground,” brought new material to the packed shows Friday and Saturday. Opening up by telling the audience “Not to get political, but…” set the tone of the evening and his set, of course, was full of politically charged comedy.

Nick Cannon Flying Solo And Looking Good Celebrates B-Day In Sin City At Drai's!

Turning 34 never looked as good as it did Sunday night when superstar actor, DJ, comedian, rapper, record producer and entrepreneur Nick Cannon celebrated his birthday with a special DJ set at Drai’s Nightclub – Las Vegas’ top new nightlife destination located on the rooftop of The Cromwell, the first stand-alone boutique hotel on the Strip.

Cannon arrived at Drai’s with friends, looking stylish in an all black ensemble complete with an edgy detailed leather jacket and a set of heavy chains around his neck.  He was in high spirits as he posed for photos and interacted with the crowd of fans who were ready to celebrate the multi-talented star’s birthday.

           

Inside Drai’s, the group sat at one of the venue’s most exclusive tables located on stage next to the DJ booth.  As word of Cannon’s arrival began to buzz throughout the club, it was clear that Drai’s wasn’t emptying out any time soon.  When he took to the turntable, the crowd erupted in applause and everyone soon found themselves under command of Cannon’s masterful musicality for the rest of the night.  He spun a mixture of new and old hip hop, continually increasing the crowd’s momentum with the start of each new track.  At one point, Cannon got so caught up in the music that jumped on top of the DJ booth to show off his dance moves and the entire club cheered him on.

All eyes were on Cannon as a magnificent three-tiered birthday cake made its way through the club and into the DJ booth.  Surprised by the monstrous dessert, he took a few moments to appreciate the gesture before getting back to his set.  For the remainder of the evening, Cannon was a constant source of energy for everyone who came to party with him 11 stories above the Strip.

Surrounded by friends and admirers, Cannon was surprised with an opulent cake from while at his VIP booth inside Drai’s Nightclub.

At the end of his set, Cannon began to thank everyone for coming out to celebrate when the entire club started to cheer as a show of their own appreciation for the entertainment luminary.  He assembled his group for a round of drinks at their VIP table before calling it a wrap and heading to his Parlour Suite at The Cromwell to end what was indisputably an “only in Vegas” kind of night.

Marquee Dayclub Dome Opens! Best DJ Markus Schulz Receives Award Best American DJ

Sunday afternoon, Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub debuted its 22,000-square-foot, climate-controlled Dayclub Dome for the winter season with a blowout bash to celebrate its launch as well as America’s Best DJ winner and Marquee resident, Markus Schulz. DJs Lema, Kennedy Jones and Cash Cash were all on-hand to set the soundtrack for the wild afternoon affair, leading up to a set from the man of the hour. Shortly before kicking off his set, Markus Schulz was joined in the DJ booth by DJ Times Magazine editor Jim Tremayne who presented Schulz with a plaque reflecting his new title as well as a 24 karat gold mixer from Pioneer DJ. Schulz, a now two-time winner of the honor, took over the mic to express his gratitude and thanked his fans and everyone who has supported him. He then treated partygoers to an electric set as the party continued on until sunset.

The off-season pool party under the Dayclub Dome marked the first in a lineup of select dates scheduled throughout the fall and winter seasons. The next dose of daytime revelry is Sunday, October 19 with sounds by Grammy-award winner Cedric Gervais.

URGENT! Blood Drive Coming Up! At Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa

Jeff Leibow of JERSEY BOYS will once again bring The Strip’s most notable headliners together under one roof in the fight against Neurofibromatosis (NF) for the fourth annual “NF Hope Concert.” Proceeds from the event will benefit NF Network, an organization serving families and individuals suffering with NF. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation in the support of Las Vegas families touched by this common, yet seldom supported disorder. Over $5K Raised For Charity By Runners In The ISPE Run

Over 100 runners took to The Strip today to participate in the 6th Annual ISPE 5K charity run on the second day of the ISPE annual convention in Las Vegas. Runners departed from Caesars Palace at 7 am and followed a course that took them north up Las Vegas Blvd past the Mirage Volcano, Treasure Island and the Venetian/Palazzo, then east past Wynn and Encore, and south to the new LINQ and under the Highroller - the world's largest observation wheel. Participants then raced by the Cromwell, one of the hottest new hotels on The Strip and past the Bellagio Fountains on the homestretch back to Caesars for the finish line. Five race-day "dealers" were located along the course, dealing each runner a playing card. The best poker hand winner received a certificate for two for the “Strip Highlights Helicopter Tour” from Papillion Helicopters. All of the runners received a race shirt and swag bag.

Over $5,000 was raised from the race with 100% of the proceeds being donated to The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis. The event was the first of its kind, a major medical convention sponsoring a wellness fundraising activity on the Las Vegas Strip, benefitting the local chapter of a national charity.

“Team Challenge, The Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America, was honored to be a part of such a great event,” said Deborah Watson, Manager of Team Challenge. “We are so grateful for the generous donation of $5,100 from the ISPE 5K.  The mission of CCFA is to cure Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, and to improve the quality of life for our children and adults affected by these diseases. The ISPE runners have helped us on this mission.”

“This was one of our most memorable races,” said Jennifer Mahar of EVENTURE, the event’s Race Director and planning company. “We had a blast setting up the course and our staff and volunteers got to be poker dealers on the Las Vegas Strip. What a better way to see Vegas when you are coming in town for conference.”

The top male and female finishers each won a $100 VISA gift card, two complimentary race entries for the 2015 Strip on the Strip™ 5K including a T- Shirt and water bottle, gift certificates and running swag.

One Of Our Pom Pack Has Become A Fur Angel..RIP T Bear

The Blog lost one of it's member of the Pom Pack yesterday 10/12/14 at 11:20 am. We will return tomorrow

It has been a very rough day. I cannot go for more than an hour without thinking of my Bear Bear. But a HUGE Thank you to Sarah for reaching out to me and helping me to connect to my beloved Bear one last time. He will always be with me and I love him and am so blessed that he was in my life. Bear communicated that he sends a deep deep appreciation of how much I loved him and he knows the special place that he has in my heart and how he will always be there. Bear was my first rescue dog and he had been left at the NSPCA tied up with a broken hip and was probably hit by a car. Heaven Can Wait rescued him and rehabbed him. We were second on the list for him. The first person did not think that Bear was a good fit because he was a large pom. Well his size did not matter to us. Then on his second night at home he chased the cat (we used to have two) down the stairs and hurt his other hip. So he had to go back and have another operation and be rehabbed all over again. He finally came home and had been with us ever since. Lola and him helped me get through many trying times in my life and they are angels here on earth. Now Bear is another type of angel.

We will be together again and he will be waiting for me. It is time for Bear to begin the rest of his journey and he wants me to be happy and remember our love and not to be so sad because in one way or another we will always have each other. I LOVE YOU FOREVER Bear my T Bear and go with God onto your next journey. It will not be easy and I will never forget you.
