"Fruit Of Kings" Le Melon Grey Goose Launched In Vegas!!

Las Vegas celebrities and influencers alike came out this week to attend UrbanDaddy’s launch party for Le Melon, the latest flavor from Grey Goose, at the Euro Pool at the Wynn. The party was part of a national ten-city event series “Fruit of Kings” to celebrate the new flavor by toasting modern day “kings” who are shaking things up.

The Las Vegas event toasted host, Anthony Pettis, the UFC Lightweight Champion. He is currently filming the 20th season of the reality TV series, The Ultimate Fighter, in Las Vegas and is in the running to be the face of the Wheaties Box. This is the first time ever that a UFC mixed martial arts fighter has a chance to land the Wheaties Box cover. Other notable guests were UFC Fighters Eddie “Truck” Gordon and Kevin Lee.

The inspiration for the collaboration comes from the rich and intriguing history of the Cavaillon melon, selected by Grey Goose creator Maitre de Chai (Cellar Master) Francois Thibault to craft the exceptional new expression – Grey Goose Le Melon. The prized essence of the ripe, juicy Cavaillon melons, from Provence, France was said to be relished and sought after by French Kings, nobility and artists. Legend has it that kings traded gold for exclusive access to this treasured fruit.

The Window Hosts An Open House Sunday 7/13 Downtown Vegas!

This Sunday, Downtown Project will host an open house to debut The Window. Located at the base of The Ogden, and surrounded in clear glass, The Window stands as the Downtown Project’s urban experiment in co-learning. 

During the day, The Window will serve as a public co-working space for individual study and informal meetings. The space will also mark the beginning of the Downtown Project Tour, where 400 to 600 monthly guests gather to learn the story behind the Tony Hsieh-led effort to revitalize Downtown Las Vegas. 

However, The Window’s most unique contribution to the city may take place “after hours” when, on select evenings, this strategic Downtown location is shared freely with nonprofit organizations committed to community enrichment. These events include local storytelling performances, “pop-up” continuing education classes, public readings of new plays, free legal assistance and engagement around social challenges like homelessness and human trafficking.

Tomorrow, artifacts from The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement and The Neon Museum will be installed into the space.

The Mob Museum will feature a brick from the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. On Feb. 14, 1929, Mob warfare in Chicago reached a crescendo when seven of Bugs Moran’s men were gunned down by men dressed as police officers who actually were members of Al Capone’s rival gang. The brick is part of the wall of the garage against which the men were killed. The wall is an icon of Mob history and gang violence during the Prohibition Era.

The Neon Museum will showcase the letter “N” from the “Casino” sign that hung above the entrance to the Barbary Coast that is now The Cromwell.
