Girls Night Out In Vegas At Hyde Bellagio Raises Over $200,000!

Silent Auction  Items

Entertainer Frankie Moreno

Friends of The Shade Tree, a local Las Vegas organization founded to financially support The Shade Tree Shelter, celebrated a successful and glamorous Girls Night Out event raising more than $200,000 for The Shade Tree through auctions, donations and a raffle at HYDE Bellagio last week.

The evening began as a slew of Las Vegas celebrities walked the red carpet including, the ladies of FANTASY at Luxor, Emmy-award winning anchor, Jason Feinberg, the beautiful Miss Nevada USA, Nia Sanchez, and local Strip headliner, Frankie Moreno.

Women clamored around the silent auction table throughout the evening, bidding on items such as a Miami Beach Vacation including a two-night stay at SLS Miami; a Valentino Red Lacca Bow Clutch; a two-night stay at ARIA with two rounds of golf at  Shadow Creek and Southern Highlands Golf Courses; and a Gucci leather tote. In total, the 32 silent auction items consisted of 13 luxury handbags, six vacations and getaways, seven spa packages and four shopping spree packages.

One of the most anticipated events of the evening, the live auction, kicked off with a bang as the Master of Ceremonies, Jason Feinberg, passed the microphone over to celebrated auctioneer, Christian Kolberg. Bidding got heated over several of the 13 items up for auction. Some of the most sought after packages included a package for 15 to 20 to travel to Oakland, Calif. to attend a Golden State Warriors game from the luxury of the Owner’s Box; a trip for two to New York Fashion Week to attend the Lanvin Fashion Show and a two-night stay at the Gansvoort Hotel; a year-long family four-pack membership to the new Life Time Fitness in Green Valley; and a gorgeous Camille Flawless dress, modeled by the stunning Miss Nevada.

Following the close of the live auction, Moreno took the stage to rock HYDE. Presented by Towbin Motorcars, Moreno’s performance was received with a roar of enthusiasm and had guests dancing in the center of the ultra-lounge until the event’s conclusion.

Proceeds from the night benefited The Shade Tree, a local organization that provides safe refuge to physically abused and homeless women, children and their pets. Friends of the Shade Tree is a local, Las Vegas, organization founded to financially support The Shade Tree Shelter. Over the past 11 years, Friends of the Shade Tree has raised more than $2,500,000 to help provide life changing services to the women and children of The Shade Tree, promoting stability, dignity and self-reliance

Book Signings Coming Up For The Mob Museum In Vegas!

The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces two book signings for June. Author Cathy Scott will sign copies of her book, “Murder in Beverly Hills: The Mob-Style Execution of Susan Berman, Her Crime Boss Father and the Deadly Secret She Took to Her Grave,” on Saturday, June 7, and Geoff Schumacher, director of content development, The Mob Museum, will sign copies of “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State,” on Saturday, June 14. Both signings will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Museum’s gift shop.

About Murder in Beverly Hills
As a child, author and journalist Susan Berman was regarded as Las Vegas Mob royalty. The daughter of Flamingo executive and Mob figure Dave Berman, she was murdered execution-style in December 2000 at age 55 and the crime has never been solved. “Murder in Beverly Hills” chronicles her life and events leading up to her untimely death and presents exclusive information about the investigation and about Robert Durst, Berman’s longtime friend whom many suspect was involved in her homicide.
Scott, an award-winning journalist, is the bestselling author of “The Killing of Tupac Shakur” and “The Murder of Biggie Smalls.” “Murder in Beverly Hills” is her ninth book and is a re-release and update of “Murder of a Mafia Daughter.” Scott is currently co-writing the autobiography of former drug kingpin

Freeway Rick Ross.
About Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State
“Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State” is the official book commemorating the state’s 150th birthday. Edited by Schumacher, the book delves into Nevada’s 19th century origins, its 20th century triumphs and its 21st century challenges. More than 70 Nevada writers capture the state’s rich history, diverse culture and amazing places. Their words are complemented by hundreds of photographs depicting Nevada’s gritty past, desert vistas and urban splendor.

Schumacher, a longtime Nevada journalist, is the director of content development for The Mob Museum in Las Vegas. He is the author of “Howard Hughes: Power, Paranoia & Palace Intrigue” and “Sun, Sin & Suburbia: The History of Modern Las Vegas.” During a 25-year newspaper career, Schumacher worked in various capacities for the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas CityLife, Las Vegas Mercury, Las Vegas Review-Journal and Ames (Iowa) Tribune.
