Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces
two book signings for June. Author Cathy Scott will sign copies of her book,
“Murder in Beverly Hills: The Mob-Style Execution of Susan Berman, Her Crime
Boss Father and the Deadly Secret She Took to Her Grave,” on Saturday, June 7,
and Geoff Schumacher, director of content development, The Mob Museum, will
sign copies of “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State,” on Saturday, June 14.
Both signings will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Museum’s gift shop.
About
Murder in Beverly Hills
As a
child, author and journalist Susan Berman was regarded as Las Vegas Mob
royalty. The daughter of Flamingo executive and Mob figure Dave Berman, she was
murdered execution-style in December 2000 at age 55 and the crime has never
been solved. “Murder in Beverly Hills” chronicles her life and events leading
up to her untimely death and presents exclusive information about the
investigation and about Robert Durst, Berman’s longtime friend whom many
suspect was involved in her homicide.
Scott,
an award-winning journalist, is the bestselling author of “The Killing of Tupac
Shakur” and “The Murder of Biggie Smalls.” “Murder in Beverly Hills” is her
ninth book and is a re-release and update of “Murder of a Mafia Daughter.”
Scott is currently co-writing the autobiography of former drug kingpin
Freeway
Rick Ross.

Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State
“Nevada:
150 Years in the Silver State” is the official book commemorating the state’s
150th birthday. Edited by Schumacher, the book delves into Nevada’s 19th
century origins, its 20th century triumphs and its 21st century challenges.
More than 70 Nevada writers capture the state’s rich history, diverse culture
and amazing places. Their words are complemented by hundreds of photographs
depicting Nevada’s gritty past, desert vistas and urban splendor.
Schumacher,
a longtime Nevada journalist, is the director of content development for The
Mob Museum in Las Vegas. He is the author of “Howard Hughes: Power, Paranoia
& Palace Intrigue” and “Sun, Sin & Suburbia: The History of Modern Las
Vegas.” During a 25-year newspaper career, Schumacher worked in various
capacities for the Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas CityLife, Las Vegas Mercury, Las
Vegas Review-Journal and Ames (Iowa) Tribune. He has edited numerous books
about Las Vegas.
