Forbes Travel Guide's star rating process is a highly selective process that carefully vets destinations and selects properties and spas to become a part of the exclusive list of luxurious destinations. According to Forbes, properties must meet an extensive list of 800 particular standards in order to be considered for the list. These service standards are evaluated by a Forbes Travel Guide inspector through an unannounced and undercover evaluation of the facility.
