Bugs—people fear or hate them—but these creatures of nature play an important role in the health of the desert. BUGS! is a live animal show featuring various insects and arachnids that can be found right here in Southern Nevada, and will be conducted by our very own in-house staff experts. This show teaches visitors what makes these animals so unique and not something to fear.
See live demonstrations featuring a rotating cast of characters that may include: desert tarantulas, desert hairy scorpions, bark scorpions, banded desert centipedes, giant vinegaroons and hissing cockroaches. Audio and video clips of animals in the wild in real time, and the use of HD cameras let you watch up-close from the comfort of your seat. Shows are in the Big Springs Theater inside the Origen Museum and last approximately 30 minutes. BUGS! is FREE for members or with paid general admission.
Get up close—or not!—as the mysteries of the Mojave’s most amazing insects, arachnids and other invertebrates are revealed. Join us after the show for a Behind-The-Scenes BUGS! experience. Weekends at noon. $5 per person.
Weekends March 12 - May 30 (including Memorial Day holiday), Shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Behind-The-Scenes BUGS! experience following the 11 a.m. show at noon.
