Okay
we all get the fact that there are some people that look upon “survival gear and
prepping” is for people that are supposedly waiting for the end of the world or
for some huge disruption in society. But
if you take a look at what taking extra measures to ensure that your
family is safe and is prepared you might view taking these steps a little
differently. Not only does being
prepared help you in the event of an unforeseen emergency but it can help you
with the little bumps in life that come up.
For
example if you happen to lose your job? Or if for some reason we happen to lose
electricity for a few days? There are many what ifs but being prepared to care for
yourself and your family should be an important aspect to take a look at
closer. In Henderson there is a store Tru Survival where you can prepare for
any emergency. Best of all their items are reasonably priced! If you have ever
taken a look online for survival gear/items there are many retailers whose
prices are exorbitant. At Tru Survival they try very hard to keep
their prices down for example; a container of 22 servings of Quick Rolled Oats
is on the shelf for $7.99. Maybe you really really enjoy Mac & Cheese and
want to have some stored, once again a container of 26 servings is $14.99. Like
beef and do not want to do without it in case of an emergency? Pick up a canister
of Ground Beef, 29 ounces (1 lb 13 oz) for $47.49. These prices ensure that you will have plenty
of great options for you to choose from for your emergency pantry.
They
also host in-store classes on a variety of subjects pertaining to survival/emergency
elements. Tomorrow on October 11th they are having a class on “Food
Storage.” These are offered free of charge and will provide you with the
building blocks of what to do and where to start preparing for unexpected
events. Be sure to take a look at the self-defense items; I personally have my
eye on the Enforcer stun gun which delivers 2 million volts and can shock over
500 times or light over 12 hours continuously.
It comes with a real time LED display which shows run time and number of
remaining shocks conveniently located in the handle. Plus the intelligent charging system can't
overcharge. This handy piece of equipment retails for $89.99, not bad for peace
of mind and protection!
On
the upcoming agenda is a course in Basic Wilderness Survival for animals and
humans. Once again having the tools to survive and know what to do in an
emergency, essential in our turbulent world.
For the ladies such as me who believe in being prepared they are also
going to be rolling out Hostess Parties!
Tactical Trauma Kit $199 |
Take
a look at the website for a complete list of all the items they have in stock
including emergency medical kits. Or if you have a medical kit you can add
different items a la carte such as extra Plastic Tweezers ($.65) Scalpel Handle
#3 ($2.00) or a Universal Splint ($12.95).
Being prepared is being smart not paranoid!
