The
talent is set and the amphitheater is ready for another season of music with
Clark County Parks and Recreation’s Jazz in the Park concert series, which
celebrates its 25th year. This year, the free series will feature the Las Vegas
Academy Jazz Combo, which has invited the first four artists to perform with
them.
Marlena
Shaw is known for her LP Sweet Beginnings on Columbia that contained, arguably,
Shaw's finest moment Yu Ma / Go Away Little Boy, which was a medley,containing
the old Goffin and Carole King standard, originally recorded by Nancy Wilson.
The album also contained the track Look At Me, Look At You, popular on the U.K.
rare groove scene. She also recorded one of the disco era's biggest hits - a
remake of "Touch Me in the Morning" also on Columbia Records.
Seating
for those with picnic baskets, blankets and low-back chairs will begin at 6
p.m. with performances beginning at 7 p.m. at the Clark County Government
Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
Food
vendors also will be available on site.
