Mint Cheesecake |
Downtown
Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino recently hosted a Girl Scout Cookie Bake-Off
for a local roop, and the scrumptious creations made from a variety of Girl
Scout cookies are now on the menus of Stewart + Ogden, Triple George Grill and
The Commissary, while supplies last.
Chefs
from The Downtown Grand, Triple George Grill and The Commissary created
desserts made from Girl Scout cookies and competed in a taste test competition
judged by Girl Scout troop members and invited guests. The event was the
culmination of Local Troop # 41’s efforts to achieve their entrepreneurship
badge.
The
public can sample the desserts at Stewart + Ogden, Triple George Grill and The
Commissary. Each dessert is a special menu feature for a limited time on the
menus of the participating restaurants. A portion of the proceeds of the sale
of the desserts will go to the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada.
The
winner of the taste test was a Peanut Butter Sandwich (Do-Si-Dos) milk shake
with chocolate and peanut glazed donuts created by Chef Marissa Gerlach of The
Commissary.
Other
desserts included a Thin Mint Cheesecake with chocolate sauce and thin mint chocolate
garnish coupled with a Thin Mint smoothie with Chantilly cream chocolate straw
garnish, created for the Stewart + Ogden menu by Chef Vivian Chang, pastry chef
for the Downtown Grand. Chef Joe Leininger of Triple George Grill created three
desserts including a Thin Mint Cheesecake with Bailey’s liqueur glaze, a
Thanks-a-Lot Dulce de Leche with sea salted caramel, and Strawberry Lemonades
Gooey Bars with fresh whip cream.
