Las Vegas at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino celebrated Labor Day Weekend with a
five-day, action-packed event series, featuring some of the most notable names
in dance music including (in event order) Steve Aoki, Hardwell, Calvin Harris,
music icon Moby and Tiësto.
The
holiday weekend was in full force as Las Vegas' most buzzed-about nightclub
kept the fun going all weekend long.
Kicking off the weekend of festivities Thursday, Aug. 29, was GRAMMY
Award-nominated artist Steve Aoki as he spun his classic sounds while
entertaining the crowd with his signature antics and customized props from
cake-throwing and champagne-spraying, to his C02 hand guns and Indian
"Winnetou style" head piece that is fully covered with color changing
LED lights - all part of the fun of his signature Hakkasan party, “Neon
Future.”
Friday,
Aug. 30, Dutch DJ and producer Hardwell took to the tables to delight guests
with his blend of progressive and electro-house beats as Netherlands “mash up
maestro” Dannic closed out the powerful evening . The dynamic two-some had fans
dancing all night long as they put on a pulsating performance for clubgoers.
Continuing
to thrill guests with an unparalleled weekend of music Saturday, Aug. 31, was GRAMMY-Award winning
mega-producer and DJ, Calvin Harris, joined by English progressive house DJ
Michael Woods. The duo kept the energy up in the main room each with vibrant
sets which included their fan-favorite beats.
The
most legendary moment of the Labor Day celebrations took place Sunday, Sept. 1,
when Hakkasan guests received a special treat as renowned music icon Moby
delighted the crowd with an exclusive one-off performance, the first time the
GRAMMY Award-nominated artist has performed at the venue. With his 11th studio
album “Innocents” set to be released in early October, the legendary musician
took a short break from his international tour appearing in Sin City for the
first time since 2009.
Wrapping
up the weekend of revelry Monday, Sept.
2, crowd-pleasing Tiësto made the most of the extended weekend's final moments
in a show-stopping DJ set with Tony Arzadon.
Hakkasan's
"open format" club area, the Ling Ling Club, also hosted a wide array
of DJ talent throughout the weekend.
Thursday, Aug. 29, guests were delighted by performances from special
guest DJ Sid Vicious; Friday, Aug. 30 featured hip-hop legend DJ Ruckus and
Saturday, Aug. 31 renowned DJ Irie as they all took turns manning the decks
while spinning hard-hitting tracks for partygoers.
