Summer
is right around the corner and a great way to ring in the season is on National
Flip Flop Day at Tropical Smoothie Café. On Friday, June 21, all 22 Las Vegas
locations will welcome summer during the seventh annual National Flip Flop Day
celebration. From 2 to 7 p.m., customers who visit any of the Las Vegas

“National
Flip Flop Day is one of our favorite times of the year! We have the best, most
loyal customers and this is our chance to give back to them with a free Jetty
Punch smoothie,” said Dina Mitchell, Area Developer and Marketing Director for
Nevada. “But our customers give back to us, too – through very generous
donations to Camp Sunshine. We are accepting donations through June 23, and
through our Nevada stores we want to raise $40,000 in order to send 20 kids and
families to camp. We have been collecting donations since May 10 and I think
this is going to be a record-breaking year!”
Camp
Sunshine, a retreat in Casco, Maine for children with life-threatening
illnesses and their families, is a nonprofit that hosts families year-round to
alleviate the stress and strain for the sick child and their family members.
Families attend Camp Sunshine for completely paid, weeklong programs. The cost
for one family to participate in the weeklong program is $2,000, plus travel
expenses. For further information about Camp Sunshine, visit
www.campsunshine.org.
To
date, Tropical Smoothie has donated $1,500,000 to Camp Sunshine, sending 750
children and their families to experience camp. Last year, Tropical Smoothie
Café raised $400,000 for Camp Sunshine and plans to exceed that number in 2013
by raising $500,000.
