“Light
Up Vegas” Contest. Las
Vegas signs have captivated the world’s imagination for decades. To capitalize
on this fascination, Expedia.ca organized the “Light Up Vegas” contest inviting
its customers to design their ideal, iconic Las Vegas-style sign. One winner
out of 10,000 entries was chosen to win an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas
with five lucky friends to see his name—and prize-winning sign design—in
lights.
The
sign itself will be electrified for the very first time at a special unveiling
event at the Neon Museum, which houses more than 150 rescued and restored neon
signs dating from the 1930s to the present day. The sign will be then be
transported and displayed in front of Bally’s on the corner of Las Vegas
Boulevard and Flamingo Road from Friday, Dec. 7 until Monday, Dec. 10.
