of Southern Nevada is gearing up for the annual 97.1 The Point Turkey-Thon, a
program which provides 1,200 Las Vegas Valley families with a Thanksgiving
meal, with donation opportunities at Albertsons and The Joint at Hard Rock
Hotel & Casino from Oct. 31 through Nov. 17.
Representatives
from HELP of Southern Nevada will be on-site at The Joint during the Guns N’
Roses Appetite for Democracy residency to collect monetary donations for the
program. Concertgoers can donate to the Turkey-Thon when attending the concerts
Oct. 31 through Nov. 17, beginning at 8 p.m. each night. To view the concert

Donations
of frozen turkeys and fixings will be also be accepted from Nov. 15 to 17 at
three Albertsons locations: 575 College Drive (Thursday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to
7 p.m.), 9725 S. Maryland Parkway (Friday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and
1650 N. Buffalo Drive (Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). 97.1 The Point
will be broadcasting live from the Turkey-Thon, encouraging generous shoppers
to contribute if they are able.
Those
wishing to donate money for the 97.1 The Point Turkey-Thon online can do so at
www.helpsonv.org, making sure to put “Thanksgiving” in the subject line on the
donation page. A family of four can be fed with $35.
