A
testament to Imagine Exhibitions’ support of Las Vegas’ local arts community,
Da Vinci – The Genius – an exciting exploration of the art, scientific studies
and brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci – will debut a mini exhibition at Downtown
Las Vegas’ First Friday tomorrow, November 2. The full exhibition is on display
at The Imagine Exhibitions Gallery in The Venetian through January 27, 2013.
Da
Vinci – The Genius’ display at First Friday will feature pieces directly from
The Venetian exhibition, including life-size creations of da Vinci’s inventions
and other creations. First Friday visitors also will receive $5 off admission
to the full exhibition, as well as the chance to submit their name in a drawing
for tickets to Da Vinci – The Genius.
The
works featured at Da Vinci – The Genius’ mini exhibition will include:
· Carro Copperto per L’Assalto: This was
da Vinci’s version of the Trojan Horse, used for storming the walls of a castle
or a fortress.
· Sottomarino: da Vinci conceived the idea
of a submarine, “a ship to sink another ship.”
· Odometro: This machine is used to
measure the distance travelled and laid the groundwork for today’s modern
odometer.
· Bicicleta: It has been debated that da
Vinci’s designs played a small role in the early development of the bicycle.
“When
I signed the lease on the Imagine Exhibitions Gallery and brought Da Vinci –
The Genius as our first exhibition to
Las Vegas, it was a goal of ours to really get involved with the city’s growing
local arts community,” said Tom Zaller, CEO and Founder of Imagine Exhibitions
and the Imagine Exhibitions Gallery. “By participating in First Friday, we hope
da Vinci’s works of genius will inspire future ones.”
