Info: The American rock band, Portugal. The Man, takes the stage at Veil
Pavilion to showcase the band’s vintage and eclectic sound. The band’s hard
work has led to much success after the album Censored Colors peaked at No. 10
on the U.S. Heatseekers Chart and after lead singer John Gourley was named
“Best Vocalist of the Year” by AP Magazine in 2008.The guys have played
well-known music festivals, such as Bonaroo and Lollapalooza and they now call
Atlantic Records “home” after signing with the label in 2010. In 2011,

Info: Sway Pool Lounge at Silverton Casino Hotel celebrates its re-opening with
the kick-off of the Bikinis, Bands and Burgers concert series featuring food
specials for purchase by Johnny Rockets, drink specials and a performance by
Grammy Award winning reggae band Steel Pulse at 7 p.m. Steel Pulse pushed its
way onto the music scene in 1978 with the debut album Handsworth Revolution.
After a lot of time and hard work, the band’s album Babylon The Bandit won a
Grammy for “Best Reggae Album.” The band has continued to release hits
throughout the ‘80s and contributed the song “Can’t Stand It” to the soundtrack
of Spike Lee’s movie “Do The Right Thing.” The band has released more recent
hits, such as 1997’s Rage and Fury produced under Atlantic Records and 2004’s
African Holocaust.

Info: Country group Eli Young Band, from Texas, is taking over the Veil
Pavilion stage to show the audience that country music with a dash of rock is
always a good thing. The band was started by Mike Eli and James Young, who
turned their country loving duo into a quartet by adding bassist Jon Jones and
drummer Chris Thompson. The guys opened a show for Miranda Lambert in 2003 and
caught the eye of music producer Frank Liddell, who later signed them to his
label Carnival Recording Co. The Eli Young Band was officially signed and
released the debut album Level in 2005 featuring hit songs “When It Rains” and
“That’s The Way.” Recently, the band released Life At Best, which chart topped
as No. 3 in both the Country Albums and Top Digital Album categories. It also
landed as No. 6 on The Billboard 200.
