Las
Vegas Motor Speedway earned two Best of Las Vegas recognitions Sunday for
events it hosted in 2011. Best of Las Vegas is an annual readers’ survey
compiled by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The Best of Las Vegas survey encompasses
entertainment, dining, sports, music, hotels and celebrities. The awards were
included in a special section in Sunday’s edition of the newspaper.
The speedway earned Best Local Sports Event
for the 2011 NASCAR Weekend, which included the Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series race, NASCAR Nationwide Series Sam’s Town 300 and Stratosphere Pole
Day.
LVMS earned its second 2011 Best of Las Vegas
Award for the inaugural Electric Daisy Carnival. The electronic music event was
selected by the LVR-J staff for Best Concert.
“We’re proud of the success and popularity of
our events and we thank the readers and the R-J staff for their recognition,”
said LVMS president Chris Powell. “Even though we have won these awards, we
will continue to work hard every day to create positive experiences for all of
our guests.”
The
next event at LVMS is this weekend’s NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals at The
Strip at LVMS. Tickets may be purchased online at www.LVMS.com or by calling
