This Lunar New Year, Caesars
Palace welcomes the Year of the Dragon with a
spectacle as grand as the legendary dragon itself. In honor of the New
Year, Caesars Palace headline entertainer Matt Goss will symbolically paint the
eyes on the lion to begin the Lunar New Year celebrations. Ancient tradition
states the spirit of the Lion must be awakened through a ceremony where the
eyes are painted or dotted on. To add to the festivities, firecrackers will be
lit to ward off evil spirits as the lion dance parades throughout the resort
heralding the Year of the Dragon.
The public is invited to
witness this free event marking the Lunar New Year. Traditional red and gold
decorations featuring red azaleas, red tulips, cherry blossoms, red and gold
lanterns, and golden statues of the symbols of the Chinese lunar zodiac will be
displayed throughout Caesars Palace.
