Rapper Future Thrills Fans During Big Game Week-End At Drai's Nightclub

On Feb. 5, 2017 exclusive resident artist, Future closed out an unforgettable Big Game Weekend at Drai’s Nightclub atop The Cromwell in Las Vegas with a thrilling full-length concert performance presented by Drai’s LIVE. Revelers at the packed rooftop nightclub met the chart-topping rapper with thunderous cheers as he went in on a huge set of crowd favorites, including “Low Life,” “Where Ya At” and more. The “Wicked” rapper kept the party going late into the night while enjoying the sounds of DJ Franzen from his luxurious stageside booth. Several big names were spotted taking in the late-night show, including DJ and producer Alesso; actress Maia Mitchell; Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle Andre Smith, and cornerbacks Captain Munnerlyn and Xavier Rhodes; Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson; and Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones.

Future’s show served as the grand finale to an epic three-day lineup featuring full-length concert performances by fellow Drai’s LIVE resident artists Fabolous on Friday, and Big Sean, who took the stage at the official release party for his just-released album, I Decided, on Saturday. It Was A Super Big Game Bash! Fans Packed The DLVEC!

Last Sunday, football enthusiasts gathered at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center during the venue’s annual action-packed viewing party, “Big Game Bash” to witness the most anticipated game of the year.

Set up to replicate a football stadium, the party hosted fans at the 85,000 square-foot property, complemented by stadium-style seating, a variety of local vendors and an appearance by American sports talk radio personality Scott Ferrall of the CBS nationally syndicated show “Ferrall on the Bench.” Hundreds of fans gathered to watch the game on the DLVEC’s massive television screen, while enjoying food from American Coney Island, Wing King, Poppy Pizza Truck, Cousin’s Maine Lobster and Road Kill Grill.

In addition, DLVEC partnered with CBS Radio to bring a host of favorite shows including Mix 94.1, x107.5, 98.5 KLUC, and Q100.5, that broadcasted live from the party.

UNLV Hockey Team Needs Your Help!

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Rebel Hockey Club (UNLV Rebel Hockey Club) has announced fundraising initiatives to support the team’s move up to Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), becoming a NCAA Varsity program in the upcoming 2017-2018 season.

“Rebel Hockey’s move up to full NCAA Varsity status couldn’t come at a more exciting time for hockey in Las Vegas,” said Zee Khan, general manager of UNLV Rebel Hockey Club. “However, with this move comes a greater need for financial support, so we are working together to launch a series of fundraisers to help us achieve our goals.”

The UNLV Rebel Hockey Club has an annual budget of roughly $280,000, which is all raised privately by donors, partners, board members and staff. Since the program is unable to provide scholarships, the student athletes are responsible for more than $3,000 per year in costs individually – in addition to tuition and other expenses. Donations and sponsorships help to provide equipment, facilities, travel expenses, medical treatment, as well as make it possible for the team to play in the National Championship. Khan currently estimates a shortfall of $110,000 through the end of the 2016-2017 season prompting the team to launch an array of sponsorship opportunities to secure contributions.

A few fundraising initiatives have been launched to support the Rebels pursuit of the National Championship title, including the “2017 UNLV Hockey Road to the National Championship Grand Prize Raffle” on Eventbrite. Prizes include: UNLV Hockey 2017-18 season tickets; a Top Golf package; a $2,500 grand prize; as well as dozens of other prizes.

Rebel Hockey has also introduced locker sponsorships, jersey sponsorships, equipment sponsorships and tiered packages ranging from $2,500 to $100,000. A detailed description of all sponsorship opportunities is available at www.rebelhockey.com.
 
The UNLV Rebel Hockey Club, the state’s only collegiate-level ice hockey program, was founded in 2005 and has recently enjoyed its best performance with a 49-13-2 record-to-date through the last two seasons.

Special Opening Ceremony & Fashion Show Ushered In Chinese New Year

On Friday evening (Jan. 27, 2017) Fashion Show welcomed Chinese New Year with a special opening ceremony and ribbon cutting affair. To kick off the celebration, guests were invited to partake on a journey to China and experience cultural performances by the Sichuan Song and Dance Theater Company. Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman began the festivities and welcomed visitors and guests to Las Vegas.

Distinguished dignitaries including Michael Goldsmith (Vice President of International Marketing of LVCVA), Jim Heilmann (Senior General Manager of Fashion Show), and Xiao Xiayong, (Cultural Consul of Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco), along with Mayor Goodman joined together for the ribbon cutting, painting of the eye ceremony, and authentic lion dance to welcome the Year of the Rooster.

Guests were then treated to a runway show from Saks Fifth Ave sporting this year's best looks in hues of red and gold. To round out the celebration, the lion dance continued on with a ceremonial blessing of the department stores where team members fed the dragon red envelopes to bring good luck for the year.
