Delano Las Vegas continues its celebration of local artists with the installation of “Defiantly Inspired” by Las Vegas photographers Robert Knight and Maryanne Bilham.

Inspired by rock ‘n’ roll legends and emerging music talent, “Defiantly Inspired” combines bold musicians with the timeless beauty of the desert to create compelling portraits.

“As Delano Las Vegas marks its one-year anniversary this month, we wanted celebrate our surrounding community by showcasing the work of local artists which is a pillar of the Delano brand,” said Matthew Chilton, general manager of Delano. “We felt the ‘Defiantly Inspired’ collection made perfect sense with its combination of iconic pop culture subjects and desert influences.”

Knight and Bilham have lived in Las Vegas for more than 10 years and consistently strive to incorporate their affection for the desert into their art. “Defiantly Inspired” features both legendary and up-and-coming musicians worldwide including Robert Plant, Jimi Hendrix, LORDE, Amanda Hardy and more.

The interactive exhibition includes a complimentary audio tour describing the history and technique behind each piece. Utilizing the mobile app LAYAR, guests may simply scan each photograph to hear about its story as they stroll through the hotel lobby.

The installation is on display now through September 30.

Actor Adrian Zmed Joins Cast Of Zombie Burlesque

Famed actor and Broadway star Adrian Zmed is set to join the cast of Zombie Burlesque, a Las Vegas original production, as the popular host and owner of “Club Z”, a nightclub staffed by a cabaret of the undead and a cast of zany characters.

Prior to his role in the campy comedy musical, Zmed was best known for his roles in the hit films Grease 2 and T.J. Hooker, and his television role as the host of the hit musical variety series Dance Fever. He also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Bachelor Party and Daryl Hannah in The Final Terror. Zmed made his Broadway debut as Danny Zuko in the record-breaking musical Grease.
Zmed’s celebrity guest performances in Zombie Burlesque begin September 8 and will run on select dates through the end of the year.

WWC Championship Coming To The Orleans Arena

The 2015 World Wrestling Championships will take place at the Orleans Arena, Sept. 7-12, and welcomes the world’s best wrestlers from more than 100 countries. This is the first time since 2003 the World Wrestling Championships will be held in the U.S. It serves as the first qualifying event for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is also where the largest number of athletes earn a spot in the Olympics.

Crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas is located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.  The authentic Irish pub features a multitude of artifacts that were carefully restored in Wicklow, Ireland and shipped to their new home in Las Vegas. Rí Rá Las Vegas contains an authentic Victorian Shop bar that began its life in Ireland in the 1880s, a whiskey bar adorned with an original glazed jewelry cabinet from 1900, an oak floor from a whiskey distillery and an 8-foot-tall, 500-pound carved plaster statue of St. Patrick dating back to 1850.  The pub hosts live entertainment seven nights a week in a music room constructed with artifacts dating back to 1890 from the Olympia Theater in Dublin, Ireland. Born and raised in Dublin, Rí Rá Las Vegas owners David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan have been close friends since they were 14-years-old. Kelly and Sheehan later partnered with Jay Luther, whom Kelly met while working for Guinness. Rí Rá Las Vegas is one of nine pubs the trio has opened in the U.S
