Country Singer/Songwriter Billy Currington Has Packed Show At The Cosmopolitan

In Vegas on Friday, May 29, renowned country singer and songwriter Billy Currington performed at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as part of the “Set Your Life to Music” concert series. Special guest Ryan Lafferty warmed up the audience with a lively performance before Currington took the stage playing a number of his smash country hits including “That’s How Country Boys Roll,” “I Got A Feelin’,” and “People Are Crazy.”

Chris Paul was spotted dining at TAO Asian Bistro Saturday night.  The LA Clippers star was joined by friends for a meal that included crispy snapper, pepper steak, coconut shrimp, pad thai, sushi and more, along with a special order of LAVO’s famed oreo zeppole for dessert.  After dinner they made their way upstairs to the nightclub.

Nick Jonas also dined at TAO, taking over the private dining room with his band members and team where they toasted to a successful night at the iHeart Radio Summer Pool Party.

Mario Lopez was also seen dining at the Asian Bistro and later at a VIP table in the club taking in the sounds of DJ Vice who took partygoers on an old school hip hop ride with his set.

The Epicurean Event 2015! Amazing & For A Great Cause!

On Thursday, May 21 nearly 2,000 people gathered poolside at Palazzo to raise scholarship funds for high school students who may become the restaurant industry’s next rising star through the Association’s ProStart program.  The Nevada Restaurant Association’s 2015 Las Vegas Epicurean Affair gave attendees the opportunity to sample dishes from 45 notable Las Vegas restaurants, and wash down the delights with beverages from more than 30 wine and spirits purveyors.

It is very hard to pick favorites when the top restaurants in Las Vegas are serving up their best dishes. With that said I did have some favorites. Every year the Kentucky Derby is run and every year I promise to try the famed Mint Julep. Having heard many stories of how sweet and syrupy a Mint Julep can be I was a trifle nervous about trying the Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon Mint Julep. Absolutely nothing to worry about!! Refreshing, minty and smooth this Mint Julep was divine, not sweet at all and with a hint of mint perfect for the summer weather. See the picture for the recipe, TRY IT! You will love it. The year before I did not have a chance to visit the TAO booth and this year I made the decision to stop on by. WOW was I glad that I did! Their black seafood black rice with lobster, shrimp, crab, crispy squid was out of this world! I have never had black rice but the seasonings were perfect and it is hard to find the correct words to describe this dish other than if you enjoy Asian food you will truly enjoy this dish.

Another favorite was the Porcini ravioli in a truffle cream sauce that was at the Il Mulino booth. RAVE RAVE RAVE about the creaminess, the smoothness and the richness yet delicacy of this pasta dish. Balancing the earthiness of the mushroom with the delicate truffle taste is a feat and Il Mulino does this beautifully.

Las Vegas’s weather has been very favorable for outdoor events this year. Sport Figures Sightings In Vegas!! Where?? Who??

Chris Paul was spotted at TAO’s Worship Thursday.  The star of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clipppers was joined by friends at a VIP table, taking in the sounds of DJ Five.

Amanda Gibson, Miss Nevada United States 2015, was at TAO Beach Thursday urging pool goers to get complimentary skin cancer screenings provided by Dr. H.L. Greenberg and PA Joe Gurule of Las Vegas Dermatology.

Ashley Young, winger for Manchester United and the English National team was also spotted at TAO Beach.  Joined by his brother and friends the footballer feasted on wings, burgers, quesadillas and sushi poolside.

Summer Series For Budding Chefs! 1st Class Kids Learn How To Make Pasta!

Chef Megan Romano of Chocolate & Spice launches her summer series of hands-on classes for kids, inviting young chefs to participate in a variety of cooking courses. Each $25 per person class will run one hour with additional time to enjoy creations. Participants have the opportunity to purchase two classes at once for $45.

On Wednesday, June 10th children will learn how to make fresh pasta and finish with seasonal garden vegetables. The young chefs will then create their own specialized entrée to enjoy.

Wednesday, June 24th to cool down in the hot desert they will be learning to make ice cream. After, the young chefs will create and enjoy their own sundaes.

Favorite snacks are on the menu as Chef Romano instructs how to make mini chicken pot pies, mini meatballs and mini mac n cheese on Wednesday, July 8th.

Finishing the series on Wednesday, July 22nd participants will create seasonal sorbets to end the summer on a cool note.
