Tix Now On Sale For Popular 3rd Annual Downtown Brew Festival In LV!

Tickets are now on sale for the Third Annual Downtown Brew Festival (DBF), hosted by Motley Brews as a follow-up to April’s sold-out Great Vegas Festival of Beer, which drew nearly 6,000 attendees. The Downtown Brew Festival, Las Vegas’ largest fall craft beer event, will return for an evening under the stars at the Clark County Amphitheater on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 6 to 10 p.m.

After successfully creating the atmosphere of a friendly backyard gathering during last year’s Downtown Brew Festival, the annual fall celebration of craft beer and local talent will again redefine the experience with all-new elements. Motley Brews continues to enhance the event with even more beers from local, regional, and international breweries, as well as an elevated culinary experience with dishes created by celebrity chefs from prominent Las Vegas restaurants. Adding to the atmosphere, up-and-coming local bands will take the Land Rover Stage for a nonstop evening of live entertainment. The festival’s full culinary and entertainment lineup will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

“We love to show off ‘local Las Vegas’ during the Downtown Brew Festival—the brewers, the chefs, the bands—and we’re working closely with a lot of talented people to bring an experience that is truly unique to our city,” said Brian Chapin, founder of Motley Brews.

Downtown Brew Festival is an intimate affair, which translates to fewer lines, a smaller crowd and more beer to go around. The festival will remain a nighttime “backyard” bash in the beautiful and grassy surroundings of the Clark County Amphitheater.

The festival is presented by Victory Brewing Company, one of Southern Pennsylvania’s premiere craft breweries, to celebrate their upcoming Las Vegas debut. DBF ’14 is sponsored by local company Zappos.com and by Total Wine & More.

Motley Brews is once again working with the Nevada Craft Brewers Association (NCBA), a nonprofit advocacy group, to support local craftsmen and prominently feature great Nevada beers at the festival. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the NCBA and the participating brewers will introduce some rare specialty beers brewed exclusively for the Downtown Brew Festival.

Coming Up! 17th Annual Advertising Community Show To Benefit Safe Nest!

The 17th Annual Advertising Community Talent Show (A.C.T.S.) returns to Las Vegas Saturday, August 2 at Chrome Showroom inside Santa Fe Station. Hosted by 97.1 FM The Point’s Steph McKenzie, 98.5 KLUC’s Chet Buchanan, KTNV Ch. 13’s Shawn Tempesta and Emmy Award-winning journalist Nina Radetich, the 17th Annual A.C.T.S. will feature acts from the Southern Nevada advertising and media community. Doors open at 6 p.m. and all proceeds raised will benefit Safe Nest, a local charity dedicated to providing temporary assistance for those going through domestic crisis in Southern Nevada.

A.C.T.S. has been an annual tradition in Las Vegas, raising more than $175,000 for Safe Nest. The talent show is a way for members of the media to show off their fun side, with singing, dancing, comedy, juggling, magic and bands. A.C.T.S. is a volunteer event – all staff, performers, board members and venues donate their time and services for the event each year.

This year, A.C.T.S. has set a fundraising goal of $25,000 which will be used to purchase items for Safe Nest. In past years, items such as computers and playground equipment for the children have been purchased with the money raised.

Miss Nevada Teen USA 2014, Alexa Taylor, celebrated her Sweet Sixteen at Sugar Factory Town Square earlier this month, along with close friends and family.

The pageant beauty, stylishly dressed in a flirty hot pink dress and black stiletto heels, snapped shots throughout the evening with both friends and fans, while gushing over Sugar Factory’s signature Couture Pops.

Taylor sipped on a virgin lollipop passion goblet and kept it healthy for dinner, choosing grilled chicken with a side spinach salad.

Taylor’s friends indulged in a variety of signature menu items, including several of Sugar Factory’s burgers, tomato basil pizza and alfredo pasta.

The unforgettable bash was made complete when the birthday girl was surprised with Sugar Factory’s world-famous King Kong Sundae, made with 24 scoops of ice cream, cupcakes, sprinkles, caramel sauce, fudge sauce, strawberry shavings, sliced bananas, toasted walnuts, whipped cream and giant swirly pops. Taylor’s eyes lit up as she blew out the sparkler candles and did not waste any time to indulge in the decadent dessert.  

Taylor and friends left the party with an array of Couture Pops including Rainbow of Sugar, Sin City Sparkler and Taylor’s favorite, Charmed Couture.

The gorgeous title winner complimented the evening’s event and said she could not wait to come back for her appearance, alongside Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez, for National Lollipop Day on July 20.
