schedule of its members-only Artifacts after Hours and Wiseguy Speaker Series
events, scheduled to take place July 2014 through January 2015.
Artifacts
after Hours events offer rare opportunities to get in-depth insight into some
of the Museum’s most arresting exhibits. The Wiseguy Speaker Series, sponsored
by Ernst & Young, provides members an inside look at organized crime and
law enforcement through presentations by noted authors, scholars, government
agents and other experts.
These
intimate Artifacts after Hours events are FREE for members and $5 for their guest
(one guest only per member). Wiseguy
Speaker Series events are FREE for members and $30 for one guest (price
includes an individual membership). All events take place on Thursday evenings
from 7 to 9 p.m.

17, 2014, Glamour and Gambling in
Havana: Get a firsthand look at The Mob Museum’s artifacts from the days when
Cuba was known as America’s Playland, including photographs and other
memorabilia from infamous Havana hotels, casinos and cabarets.
September
18, 2014, The Mob’s Illegal Gambling Empire: Learn about the two newest Mob
Museum displays featuring rare early- to mid-20th century casino chips, photos
and memorabilia from the opening of Bugsy Siegel’s Flamingo Hotel, as well as
from illegal gambling clubs that once flourished across America.
November
13, 2014, Kefauver’s War on Organized Crime and Corruption: Examine up close the artifacts telling the
story of Sen. Estes Kefauver and the U.S. Senate Special Committee to
Investigate Organized Crime and Interstate Commerce. In 1950, The Mob Museum’s
courtroom served as the site of one of these important hearings, which
ultimately revealed the prevalence of Mob activity in the United States and led
to Las Vegas’ rise as the nation’s gambling capital.

14, 2014, Willie Martello’s El Rey Club: Andy Martello, author of “The King of
Casinos,” the story of Willie Martello’s El Rey Club, will share how Mob
jealousies and connections influenced operations in the searchlight club.
October
9, 2014, The Strike Force’s Battle with Organized Crime: Donna Congeni
Fitzsimmons, the first woman appointed special attorney to the Justice
Department’s Organized Crime Strike force, will discuss her case against former
Cleveland Mafia boss Angelo Lonardo and how he became the highest ranking Made
Member to turn government witness at that time.
January
8, 2015: The Las Vegas Years of Howard Hughes: Geoff Schumacher, director of
content development, The Mob Museum, and author of “Howard Hughes: Power,
Paranoia & Palace Intrigue,” separates fact from fiction in telling the
amazing story of the reclusive billionaire’s Las Vegas years.
Value
Memberships at The Mob Museum begin at $30 for an Individual, $55 for Dual and
$85 for Family (two adults and up to four children). Members receive free,
unlimited admission for one year, 10 percent discount on retail, concessions
and select events, the monthly “Known Associates” member newsletter as well as
priority notification of special events.
Donor
Memberships are also available at the Exclusive Membership ($150), Museum
Partner ($500) and Major Supporter ($1,000) levels. These memberships include
all the benefits of the Value Family Membership plus a special collector’s
item, five complimentary one-time-use guest passes, Nevada resident admission
prices for out-of-town guests and advance notification and discounts to special
events and speakers. In addition, Museum Partner and Major Supporter
memberships include special VIP parking accommodations and a portion of all
three Donor Membership levels is tax deductible. Donor Members’ tax-deductible
