Slideboarding Comes To Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas

Slideboarding, which has been implemented on the Zipp Zapp Zoom ride, integrates gaming and competitive sports into a waterslide experience that will change the waterpark industry forever. The technology employs a smart gaming system that tracks each player’s progress/scores as he or she heads down the slide. It then posts the scores on affiliated scoreboards. The system creates tailored experiences for each rider in varying degrees of difficulty based upon prior games.

Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas is Nevada’s premier water park with more than 25 slides and attractions covering more than 20 acres, and a place for both thrill seekers and families.  As Las Vegas’ Summer Playground, the park features the Tornado, a premier slide that catapults riders to a zero gravity experience; Rattler, the first slide of its kind in North America; and Constrictor, an extreme water slide featuring some of the tightest turns. Families and those desiring a more relaxing experience can enjoy Paradise Falls, the interactive children’s area with kid friendly slides and a giant dumping bucket; Colorado Cooler lazy river; and Red Rock Bay wave pool. Open for its third season, one of its most popular slides, Zipp Zapp Zoom, will feature a new and exciting addition, Slideboarding, the world’s first waterslide gaming experience. Slideboarding integrates gaming, skill, and competitive sports with the thrills of a water park. The property is a partnership between Village Roadshow Theme Parks, the majority owner and overseer of day-to-day operations, and Las Vegas investors through SPB Partners, one of Nevada’s first private equity funds. Commonwealth Rooftop
COMMONWEALTH
Recently named “Best Las Vegas Cocktail Bar of the Year” in the 2014 Nightlife & Bar Awards and one of the “7 New Reasons to Hit Las Vegas,” by the New York Post, Commonwealth brings a stylish new social scene to the burgeoning bar district in Downtown Las Vegas. The swanky 6,000-square-foot cocktail bar is a collision of art and architectural influences inspired by pre-Prohibition era design and libations. Crystal chandeliers bring a touch of elegance to the overall design, which evokes a worn, industrial ambiance. The cocktail menu combines classic and progressive methods and ingredients to offer drinks like, “Men in Tights” and “Little Hot Mess,” that make an indelible impression. Commonwealth is complete with its very own backroom speakeasy, The Laundry Room, which was recently included in Playboy’s “Best Bars 2014” list in addition to being named ‘Best Cocktail Bar of the Year’ by Nightclub & Bar Media Group. This discrete room provides an intimate setting featuring a boozeologist and drink menu independent of the main bar with a very exclusive admission process providing a focus on the guests and a great attention to detail on their cocktails. A rooftop bar offers an experiential setting with an urban brick feel and 360 degree views of downtown.

Located at 525 E. Fremont St., Commonwealth is open Wednesday through Friday from 6 p.m. to close and 7 p.m. to close on Saturday and Sunday. More information is available by calling 702.798.7000, at www.CommonwealthLV.com, on Facebook and on Twitter.
