As
school lets out for the year, sessions begin at Public School 702 in the Dining
Arroyo area of Downtown Summerlin this June. Locals and visitors will soon be
able to eat, drink and play at the restaurant’s first Las Vegas location.
“We are
so excited to provide Las Vegas locals with a new go-to place off The Strip
where they can enjoy delicious food and beer all while having a great time,”
said Restaurateur Bob Spivak.
The
gastropub will feature lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and “Recess”, also known
as happy hour. The menu, from Executive Phil Kastel, includes an array of
eclectic American favorites with signature items such as Bacon Cheddar Tots,
Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower, Colorado Lamb Burger, Crispy Ahi Tuna Tacos, Shrimp
and White Cheddar Grits, Roasted Poblano with Quinoa and for dessert a Nutella
Cookie Sandwich and Lemon Meringue.
In true
Public School fashion, the bar will carry 24 beers on tap, 11 of which will
rotate seasonally in addition to a selection of bottled craft beers. Exclusive
to the Las Vegas location, the bar will include local brewery Tenaya Creek
Brewing. Also available are 16 “on tap” wines and an array of artisan
cocktails.
The
14,000-square-foot venue is reminiscent of the classic school house with
touches of contemporary design. Communal tables and traditional booths fill
both the dining room and large patio which looks directly out to The Strip.
With a walkup bar, beer pong tables, shuffle board, over-sized Jenga and Connect
Four, the restaurant’s outdoor area provides fun activities for all age groups.
Adding
to the entertainment, Public School 702 will feature weekly programming that
includes an industry night every Monday, lounge style karaoke on Wednesdays and
a vinyl-spinning DJ each Saturday.
“We’ve
anticipated the opening of Public School 702 for months, and have no doubt it
will be an enormous success,” said Andrew Ciarrocchi, Senior General Manager
for Downtown Summerlin. “As we look to provide a great dining and entertainment
destination in the valley, off of the Las Vegas Strip, Public School’s fun and
inventive menu was worth the wait.”
Public
School 702 is located at 1850 Festival Plaza Drive. The restaurant will be open
Monday – Friday at 11 a.m. with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m. and Saturday and
