Chef Series Dinner At Made L.V. Is A Big Hit! Upcoming Dinners

After Chefs Larry and Bryan Forgione welcomed the sold-out group of guests during last night’s Chef Series dinner at Made L.V. in Tivoli Village, owner Chef Kim Canteenwalla welcomed his guests and chatted with diners about how import Chef Larry Forgione is to the New-American and farm-to-table style dining that has become so widely craved. And of course, ‘it’s a family thing’ so son Chef Bryan Forgione, from Las Vegas’ own Buddy V’s Ristorante at The Palazzo, recalled stories of growing up around food and how important cooking is to their family. He told of visits with his great grandmother in Long Island who was a first generation Italian immigrant and spent time gardening – living day-to-day in what we now consider “farm-to-table.” Chef Marc Forgione also attended the dinner to support his brother and father.

Guests dined on house-cured duck prosciutto, peanut ale BBQ shrimp, Grandma Stella’s Farm Salad, smoked Creekstone Farms Black Angus Loin and Jim Beard Strawberry-Rhubarb Shortcake.

At the end of the night the Forgiones shared a family tradition which found guests – friends, strangers, co-workers and loved ones – holding hands in a large circle which extended all the way from the back dining room to the patio, and Chef Bryan thanked everyone for coming, thanked the farmers, the ranchers, the servers, the staff and then everyone in unison said “A-hoo!”

New Club OMNIA Had Grand Opening At Caesar's Palace

P Diddy

Sarah

Last Saturday, April 25, OMNIA Nightclub inside Caesars Palace welcomed the second evening of its grand opening celebration alongside celebrity attendees P.Diddy, Sarah Hyland and more. The premier Vegas hot spot was a sight to see as thousands of patrons flocked to the destination for an unforgettable affair.

The night began around 12:30 a.m. as “Teen Wolf” star Holland Roden made her way to the red carpet and posed for a few photos. Immediately following, Hyland arrived with a group of friends and stopped to wow the crowd in a stunning red two-piece outfit. The starlet took a moment to chat with photographers as she posed and blew kisses to the fans.  Finally, the energy on the casino floor began to escalate as P. Diddy arrived with a large entourage and hit the red carpet. As fans shouted his name, the industry icon waved and stopped to share excitement of the special celebration.

Heading into the nightspot, P.Diddy made his way into the Main Club where he took a seat at his VIP table next to the DJ booth as Hyland headed into the Heart of OMNIA with her guests. Both groups immediately got the party started as they mingled with their friends and took in the sights of each room. Just after 1:30 a.m. headlining DJ Chuckie arrived and stopped by P. Diddy’s table to say hello. As he kicked off his set, Chuckie gave a shout out to the chart-topping artist and the packed nightspot erupted with cheers. As the night continued, P. Diddy surprised the crowd as he got on the mic and sang along to a couple of tracks. Taking the party to the next level, the award-winning artist hopped atop the DJ booth and challenged one lucky patron to a dance battle. The two went head-to-head showing off their best moves as thousands of fans cheered for the winner. The Main Club was truly a sight to see as P. Diddy crowned his opponent the winner and addressed the fans before making his way back to his VIP booth.

Meanwhile, just steps away in the Heart of OMNIA, the “Modern Family” star was spotted dancing the night away with her friends. As DJ D-Nice spun the best open-format hits, he had the entire room on its feet. Hyland seemed to fully enjoy her night as she sang along to her favorite songs, took photos with her friends and joined in the nightclub’s celebration.

The party continued into the early hours of the morning as electronic DJ, producer and musician Guy Gerber took over the exclusive ultra-lounge, Heart of OMNIA, for a late night DJ set around 3 a.m. Guests enjoyed the rest of the evening on the dance floor as the techno-house beats pulsed until the sun came up.

Voila! BARDOT Brasserie at ARIA Debuts Exclusive French Beer

BARDOT Brasserie, the celebrated new Parisian concept from Chef Michael Mina at ARIA Resort & Casino, has unveiled Hors d'Ć¢ge, a champagne-inspired French beer brewed exclusively for the restaurant.

Developed in Esquelbecq, France, Hors d'Ć¢ge is a Flemish Country Ale designed to complement Chef Mina’s Parisian cuisine. The elegant blonde ale was produced using only the finest French ingredients, including barley, wheat, Strisselpalt and Aramis to give it a refined flavor. The brewing process was a collaboration between Stillwater Artisanal in Boston, Brasserie Thieriez in France and ARIA’s Mixologist Craig Schoettler.

“To further elevate the atmosphere found at BARDOT, we worked tirelessly to ensure that Hors d'Ć¢ge was authentically French, from the ingredients to the technique used to brew it,” said Schoettler.

Hors d'Ć¢ge’s lean, crisp effervescent body and spicy taste along with its floral hop aroma give it a universal appeal that will please both beer aficionados and novices. Hints of marzipan and a light spice lend to a clean, dry finish with a lively carbonation, reflecting the consistency of champagne.

Hors d’Ć¢ge features 7.5 percent alcohol content and is available in 750 mL bottles or on draft. Beer enthusiasts also can enjoy BARDOT’s more than 80 international hard-to-find brews available on its robust beverage menu.

BARDOT’s dynamic beverage menu celebrates France’s passion for spirits, wine and beer. The mixology program features French-themed cocktails such as the “Storming the Bastille,” made with Bastille whisky, Maurin sweet vermouth and Bitterman coffee bitters, and the “And God Created Women,” an innovative concoction of Citadelle St. Germain, Angostura bitters, and Byrrh with BARDOT’s signature “B” sprayed onto the egg white foam sitting atop the libation. BARDOT’s wine cellar houses a bevy of French vintages, as well as a champagne cart with a rotating selection of four sparkling wines. BARDOT also boasts an impressive collection of cognac and a variety of vintage Chartreuse.

BARDOT Brasserie is located on ARIA’s Promenade Level, neighboring Jean Georges Steakhouse and The Buffet at ARIA:

Family Favorite Marie Callender's Wins National Pie Championship!

Marie Callender’s, long known for their commitment to freshly prepared foods using only the highest-quality ingredients, won the top prize at the National Pie Championship for their Lemon Meringue Pie in the Super Gourmet Commercial Category. With more than 25 different fruit, cream, and classic-style pies, the Lemon Meringue Pie is the company’s most popular variety.

“We believe the reason why our Lemon Meringue Pie is so popular among our customers is because we’ve achieved the perfect balance between sweet and tart flavors,” said Marie Callender’s Food and Beverage Manager Jim Cottle on the company’s performance at the competition. “The golden meringue topping keeps the dessert light and refreshing.”

The 2015 APC National Pie Championships took place at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, FL. Contestants at the pie competition’s 20th anniversary ranged from amateur pie makers, professional bakers and chefs to commercial pie companies from the United States and Canada.

The winners were judged in three major categories.  The first category, First Impression, judged the pie slice on appearance and overall taste. The second category, A Closer Look, explored the slice’s flavor, mouth feel, crust and aftertaste. The final category, Overall Impression, asked for the judges overall impression and ultimately, if they wanted more of that pie.
