Drink A Little Whiskey (Whisky) For Charity At McCall's Heartland At The Stratosphere

There’s nothing like celebrating a special event with good friends, good drinks, a little food and a few celebrities. This April, McCall’s Heartland Grill at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower will debut The Whiskey Bar. The bar is stocked with a generous selection featuring some of the best American made bourbons and whiskeys, providing one of the Las Vegas Strip’s best selections of flavors, ingredients, blends and tastes. Whiskey has quickly become the drink of choice at dining establishments and celebratory events across the country. In addition to the vast selection, McCall’s wants to provide an approachable and comfortable atmosphere in which to experience and enjoy one of the world’s best known drinks.

To help kick things off, McCall’s Heartland Grill is planning a series of Celebrity Happy Hours.

They have invited some of the Valley’s best known radio hosts to come join in on the fun!

The Springs Preserve Brings It's Annual Runway Fashion Show To The Stage On 4/23

Enjoy an evening of fashion, cocktails, and silent auction bidding for a good cause! The Springs Preserve hosts it's annual benefit runway fashion show on Thursday, April 23, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Join us as the Las Vegas Fashion Council presents Metamorphosis: An Eco-Fashion Event, benefiting the Springs Preserve Foundation. The Foundation supports educational and programming activities at the Springs Preserve through fundraising activities, like this one.

The beautiful outdoor runway will feature looks from fashion designers that are constructed from sustainable fabrics, locally produced wares or repurposed materials. Additionally, students will be creating fashions made from recycled materials and hair and make-up artists will be presenting looks utilizing earth's natural beauty.

Our grand finale scene will feature children wearing one-of-a-kind butterfly wings created by local costume designers and artists.

Appetizers and drinks will be served pre-show during a silent auction, and after the fashion show, enjoy an after-party in the Divine Cafe!

14th Annual Pure Aloha Festival Coming Up On 4/16 - 4/19

The 14th Annual Pure Aloha Festival will be held April, 16th – 19th at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in the Pavilion Parking Lot, located at 3700 W. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. The festival will welcome more than 25,000 guests with traditional live entertainment, evening concerts featuring the best in island music, more than 100 specialty food and retail vendors, and a large carnival with midway rides. The four-day event will include performances by multiple local and out of state Halau’s (hula schools) hailing from Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah and Hawaii, as well as two evening concerts from the best in island music. Proceeds from the Pure Aloha Festival will benefit the Pure Aloha Community Development Corporation, a 501 c 3 Non-Profit. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with dignitaries from the City of Las Vegas and Clark County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th at the Pure Aloha Festival Main Stage.

The festival will host the Pure Aloha Spring Concerts. The first concert will be on Friday, April 17th   and the second concert on Saturday, April 18th. ·         Celebrity Chefs – During the elaborate soiree, UNLVino will honor Steve Martorano, the “Godfather of American-Italian Cooking,” with the Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence. Martorano will be recognized for his contributions to Las Vegas’ epicurean scene, including his restaurants Café Martorano at Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and his newest endeavor, Martorano’s at Paris Las Vegas.

Additionally, Bravo’s “Top Chef” followers will have the opportunity to meet and taste cuisine made by “Season 12: Boston” winner, Mei Lin. America watched as Lin secured the coveted title in February, making her one of three women to win the popular cooking show in its history. Originally a sous chef at Spago Las Vegas, Lin will present her signature ceviche-style snapper, made with coconut vinaigrette, coriander, finger lime and ginger.

·         Enticing Entertainment – Grand Tasting guests will be treated to a soulful performance by Las Vegas crooner, Frankie Moreno. Moreno will have the crowd dancing with a special 90-minute set, integrating the highly contagious music and playful stage antics he is known for. A child prodigy pianist, Moreno was first introduced to American audiences at the age of 10 with his debut on CBS’s “Star Search”. Since then, he has been named Headliner of the Year in Las Vegas, made national television appearances, released an album and is currently preparing for a performance at Carnegie Hall.

·         Eligible Bachelor – ABC’s “Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” viewers will get the chance to meet fan-favorite Marquel Martin as he unveils tempting treats from his brand new endeavor, Social Cookie.
