Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary Classic Cash Giveaway

The renowned Riviera Hotel & Casino is proud to celebrate its historic Diamond Jubilee Anniversary – 60 years on the famed Las Vegas Strip. Anniversary celebrations will take place throughout the month of April, with more than $500,000 in cash prizes that will be given away in the Classic Cash Giveaway. For every 600 points earned, Riviera Rewards Club members will receive entries into special Classic Cash Giveaway drawings for cash prizes up to $10,000. Friday night a group of players from the Seattle Seahawks, including Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor were spotted at TAO Nightclub.  The NFL stars checked out “One Night Stand”, the DJ residency of Brody Jenner and William Lifestyle.  Before hitting TAO they dined at LAVO, feasting on the famed Kobe meatball, strip steaks, and cavatelli Bolognese, with Oreo Zeppole for dessert.

Jenner and William Lifestyle fueled up for their night at TAO Asian Bistro, enjoying sea bass and pot stickers before taking over the DJ booth upstairs in the club.

Anthony Mackie also dined at TAO. The actor was joined by his longtime girlfriend for a meal that included duck spring rolls and lobster wontons, along with signature Tao-Tinis.

TAO Group partner Jason Strauss kicked off his birthday celebration in the nightclub, and was surprised with a cake in the shape of an iPhone, featuring an Instagram shot of the birthday boy himself doing a headstand at Red Rock.

On Saturday, April 4 OMNIA Nightclub at Caesars Palace was a sight to see as singer, songwriter and actress Katharine McPhee was spotted enjoying a night out with a group of friends. In town celebrating her birthday, the talented star headed to the new nightspot for a true Vegas-style party.

The “Scorpion” beauty was seen entering the packed hot spot around midnight and made her way to her VIP table located in the Main Club. Surrounded by friends and party patrons alike, McPhee immediately got the party started as she was seen dancing to the sounds of the DJ duo NERVO and mingling with friends. Looking stunning in a grey crop top and maroon wide-leg crop pants, the actress was suddenly presented with an eye-catching three-tiered birthday cake perfect for the occasion. Smiling from ear to ear, she showed off her cake to her guests, posed for pictures and decided to take a bite out of the OMNIA themed dessert. Filled with excitement, the birthday girl kept the celebration going as she danced the night away before making her way out just after 2 a.m.

Also spotted at the nightclub was model and actor Kellan Lutz as he was seen enjoying a night out inside OMNIA’s exclusive ultra-lounge Heart of OMNIA. Surrounded by a group of friends, the “Legend of Hercules” star spent his evening sipping cocktails with his guests.

The festivities will kick off with a wedding ceremony in the new Elvis Presley’s Graceland Wedding Chapel at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino – the first chapel outside of Graceland in Memphis to be operated by Elvis Presley Enterprises, where couples can be joined together in an atmosphere of southern hospitality unique to the Graceland experience.  The first couple to be married will be the winners of a nationwide contest announced this morning on NBC’s Today Show. Also on the morning of April 23, Priscilla Presley will take part in the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the first-ever permanent Graceland exhibition outside of Memphis.  The exhibition will encompass over 28,000 square feet and include hundreds of artifacts from the Presley family’s treasured Graceland Archives, showcasing the man, the performer and the music that revolutionized popular culture around the world.  Visitors will experience an unprecedented journey through Elvis’ life and career, beginning with his early days in Tupelo, Miss., through his first recording session in Memphis, rise to fame, Hollywood career, life at Graceland, the Las Vegas years and more. Graceland-produced videos will immerse guests in the experience, concluding with a 26-minute retrospective film featuring Elvis’ greatest performances.

Some of the rare artifacts in the exhibition will include Elvis’ high school yearbooks; his first Gold Album; his 1955 RCA recording contract; his 1957 Harley Davidson motorcycle; his 1962 Lincoln Continental; the 1971 prototype Stutz Blackhawk delivered to Elvis at the International Hotel; coveralls from the film “Viva Las Vegas”; the diamond studded gold International Hotel belt for breaking Las Vegas attendance records; as well as iconic stage wear from Elvis’ live performances, including the first outfit worn on stage for his first concert at the International Hotel in 1969; the legendary American Eagle jumpsuit first worn in the “Aloha From Hawaii” TV special and also worn on stage in Las Vegas; and the “If I Can Dream” white suit worn in Elvis’ acclaimed 1968 NBC “Comeback Special.”  Select artifacts will be rotated regularly with artifacts from the Graceland Archives, to ensure that the exhibit is constantly evolving and remains fresh. The newly renamed and renovated Elvis Presley Theater will present Elvis-themed live shows for limited engagement runs on the very stage where Elvis performed for millions of guests during his record-breaking, seven-year stint from 1969 through 1976.  The theater is currently being restored so that it has the same look and feel it had when Elvis performed in this historic showroom.

The debut show will be the critically acclaimed “Elvis Experience,” produced by LCQ Productions, which will make its U.S. premiere on April 23, with a red carpet, opening night celebration.  “Elvis Experience” is a large-scale production replicating one of Elvis’ legendary Las Vegas shows, starring actor Martin Fontaine and featuring 24 musicians and eight choir members portraying the original musicians and artists on stage with Elvis.  “Elvis Experience” will open with the exhibition and chapel on April 23 and perform Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and start at $49 plus taxes and fees. Fremont East Entertainment District in Downtown Las Vegas has welcomed a new resident with Itsy Bitsy: Ramen and Whisky, an intimate Asian restaurant and bar, located at 150 N. Las Vegas Blvd. at the base of The Ogden.

Itsy Bitsy is born from a dynamic partnership between Corner Bar Management Group, the company behind Park on Fremont, Commonwealth, Due & Proper and Whist Stove & Spirits; DJ Five, one of Las Vegas’ top DJs; and Downtown Project.

“DJ Five and I have a friendship that was built on our love of food,” said Corner Bar co-owner, Ryan Doherty. “Opening a restaurant that combines our talents is something that has been in the works for years, and the space at The Ogden couldn’t be a better fit to open Itsy Bitsy.”

The menu, executed by Executive Chef Ricardo Romo, is simple but satisfying, in offering a blank canvas for patrons to create their own ramen bowl through three steps: 1. “Pick Your Noodle,” 2. “Pick Your Broth,” and 3: “Choose Your Topping.” Plus, Itsy Bitsy offers an array of other selections, including Japanese Wakame seaweed salad, Gyoza dumplings, garlic edamame; an array of hand rolls including Kurobuta sausage and spicy tuna; and design-your-own rice dishes. Itsy Bitsy’s dishes will be made with modern techniques and locally-sourced ingredients.

Itsy Bitsy features an extensive beverage menu, complete with masterfully mixed cocktails handcrafted by mixologist Daniel Marohnic, best known for the highly revered cocktail menus at Commonwealth and The Laundry Room. The intimate venue also features craft beers, Japanese sake and an array of Japanese whiskeys. Ratatat (Mike Stroud and Evan Mast) met as college students before recording together, first as "Cherry." 2004 brought their debut album, Ratatat, a largely instrumental endeavor with just a few vocalizations bookending certain tracks. Written and recorded on Mast’s laptop, Ratatat was followed by a compilation of remixes before the duo dove into Classics, followed by LP3 and LP4, all under XL Recordings. An untitled fifth album is in the works.

Since the release of LP3 the band has toured relentlessly, playing shows as far away as Vietnam, China and Cambodia, and selling out bigger venues than ever before. Ratatat's US touring ended with two sold out nights at New York's Terminal 5, playing to over 6,000 people.

The period in between albums has also seen Ratatat’s sideline in hip-hop production develop from a hobby into mainstream commercial success, with two tracks featured on Kid Cudi's debut album, including the single 'Pursuit of Happiness.’
