New England Pats Hero Malcolm Butler Visits Las Vegas!

This weekend Malcolm Butler – the New England Patriots rookie cornerback whose goal-line interception won Super Bowl XLIX – celebrated his team’s victory in big ways. As the Patriots’ unexpected hero, the 24-year-old up-and-comer shot to fame overnight – experiencing many “firsts” in addition to his first Super Bowl win. From media frenzies, to his very first trip to Las Vegas at the D Casino Hotel, and presenting at last night’s Grammy Awards alongside high-profile teammate Julian Edelman, Butler is easing into his newfound stardom. Although his Grammy’s presentation showed hints of growing pains in the limelight, it’s understandable, considering that this humble young athlete’s first nationally televised off-field performance was at the 57th Grammy Awards.

In fact, during his trip to Las Vegas the day before, staff at the D commented on Butler’s easy-going demeanor, kindness to fans, and humility throughout his visit. He was very appreciative for everything he received, including an indulgent meal worthy of his new, world champion status at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse inside the D. Butler enjoyed a massive rib-eye steak, baked potato and fresh salad, and for dessert, the chef presented him with a special Strawberry Cheesecake, inscribed with “Congrats Super Bowl Champ!” in chocolate. After dinner, he posed for pictures with the D Las Vegas’ sexy Dancing Dealers before taking the D’s Armored Truck Limo around town for an evening of celebrating.

NASCAR Jimmie Johnson Enjoys The High Roller! Shares Thoughts

Jimmie Johnson is no stranger to turning laps in Las Vegas, but Thursday’s experience – his first on the famed High Roller – was certainly unique for the four-time winner of Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Kobalt 400.

Johnson, the six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, joined media and a select group of lucky fans for a few circuits around the world’s largest observation wheel to promote the upcoming Kobalt 400, which returns to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 8.

“First trip on the High Roller; the laps speeds weren’t that high, but the altitude is certainly shocking,” Johnson said of the views, some 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip. “You start looking around and you realize you’re really high up there.”

Despite four Kobalt 400 wins on his resumé – a record among all drivers – Johnson knows that adding a coveted Kobalt wrench to his trophy case will be no easy task. But win or lose, he said he always enjoys racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“The track makes you step it up,” he said. “(Turns) 3 and 4 sit in the sun all day, so it’s going to be slick. You have to be smart about lane selection in Turn 1. And then the billboards provide a bunch of shade and give you a lot of grip. I love the fact that the track throws these challenges at you and it’s not a cookie-cutter, chase-the-bottom, follow-the-leader track. You’ve got to show up and wheel it.”

The Kobalt 400 is the main event of a packed racing weekend that kicks off with two nights of World of Outlaws racing at the Dirt Track on Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5. Stratosphere Pole Day follows on Friday, March 6 and the Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race is Saturday, March 7. Tickets for all events remain available at www.lvms.com or 1-800-644-4444. Fans also may purchase Neon Garage, Lucky 7 preferred parking and driver introduction passes, which will allow them closer access to all pre-race activities, including a performance by Craig Wayne Boyd.

Rare Cherub Statue Now On Exhibit At Titanic Exhibit

A rare cherub statue is on display now through Feb. 28 at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition inside Luxor Hotel and Casino. This is the Cherub’s first Las Vegas appearance and is available to view for those who purchase general admission tickets to the Exhibition. The limited-time display is the latest artifact to be installed at the Exhibition in almost two years.

While the “Ship of Dreams” featured numerous cherub statues, which were primarily used as ornamentation on the Grand Staircase, this is the only statue of its kind ever recovered from the wreckage site. The bronze figure spent decades 2.5 miles below the ocean’s surface before it was recovered by the Director of Underwater Research Program, PH Nargeolet, and team during RMS Titanic’s 1987 expedition. Though it’s missing its torch, artifact specialists believe that this particular cherub, being smaller in size, was a light fixture from a side post newel on the aft staircase that connected the C Deck to the Promenade Deck.

Titanic was first discovered on Sept. 1, 1985, 2.5 miles below the ocean’s surface off the coast of Newfoundland. Dedicated to preserving Titanic’s legacy, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition takes guests on an emotional journey through the life of the legendary ship. Along the way, visitors learn countless stories of heroism and humanity, paying tribute to the indomitable force of the human spirit in the face of tragedy.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. with the last admission at 9 p.m. For more information and ticket prices, please visit www.premierexhibitions.com.

Friday 13th Party At Drai's W/The Weekend With "50 Shades Of Grey" Theme

The Weekend
On Friday, Feb. 13, The Weeknd will return to the stage at Drai’s Nightclub for Fifty Shades of Drai’s – a night commemorating The Weeknd’s birthday and the release of the film “Fifty Shades of Grey” – with a special Drai’s LIVE concert performance by The Weeknd in an unmatched and dynamic nightlife setting.
LIVE
Drai’s LIVE is an innovative new concept.  Bridging the worlds of live concerts and lavish nightlife, Drai’s LIVE is a multi-layered party occurring at the only venue in Las Vegas with the facilities advanced enough to cater such an elaborate entertainment experience.

“Fifty Shades Of Grey,” which also opens on Feb. 13, features two exclusive songs by The Weekend.  Currently climbing the charts with his seductive “Earned It” video and single, the Fifty Shades of Drai’s evening will immerse guests in a world similar to The Weeknd’s music video – dark, mysterious, sexy and tantalizing.  In addition to the film’s lead single, The Weeknd will keep the party rolling into the early morning hours with a robust setlist of original music featuring provocative entertainment.

“With North America’s hottest artist like The Weeknd performing, live concerts at Drai’s are part of the evolution of our vision to create the best party in Las Vegas,” said Michael Gruber, president and partner at Drai’s. “In an industry where celebrities grab the mic for a quick 2-minutes and then leave, live concerts at Drai’s will focus on bringing real talent, real artistry and iconic shows to our stage. Our guests will receive a VIP performance from each performer.  They’ll leave feeling like they lived a legendary Vegas night out.”

As the only rooftop, indoor/outdoor venue set 11 stories above the famed Las Vegas Strip at The Cromwell, the full-length concert experience at the 65,000 square foot nightclub will be incomparable featuring a new stage that puts The Weeknd just inches away from his fans.  Drai’s LIVE redefines the concert-going experience in Las Vegas with the allure of an intimate performance combined with stunning views of the entire Strip.

Upcoming concerts will be revealed soon, but until then tickets for The Weeknd and other performers at Drai’s are already on sale at www.draislv.com.

For more information, visit www.draislv.com and follow Drai’s at Facebook at www.facebook.com/draislv and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/draislv and Instagram @draislv.
