Suzanne Somers Visits Vegas...Where??

It's A Holiday Wonderland At The Bellagio Conservatory!

The weather outside may be frightful, but the holiday display at Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is certainly delightful. On view through January 3, 2015, guests can discover a breathtaking winter wonderland complemented by seasonal favorites, thousands of twinkling lights, 28,000 poinsettias and a 42-foot tall holiday tree.

“Bellagio’s winter display is a must-see in Las Vegas during the holiday season.” said Randy Morton, president and COO of Bellagio. “We look forward to sharing this one-of-a-kind Las Vegas experience with guests from around the world and are excited to spread holiday cheer within this spectacular setting.”

The majestic holiday tree, decorated with 7,000 warm white LED lights and 2,500 ornaments, stands as the Conservatory’s focal point. Below, a model locomotive runs past four chocolate houses and through two chocolate stations, both created by Bellagio’s pastry team. Two 12-foot-tall animated snow globes placed on each side of the tree, showcase classic winter scenes. In one globe, ice skaters glide across an ice pond while carolers sing at the base of a spinning holiday tree in the other.
At the Conservatory’s entrance, oversized ornaments and four 18-foot-tall LED white holiday trees covered in faux snow create a sparkling path toward a walk-through snow globe – a perfect opportunity for guests to share special holiday moments and capture lifelong memories.

Nearby, a mother polar bear adorned with 12,000 white carnations keeps a watchful eye on her three cubs as they slip and slide across icebergs floating in a winter pond. Like mother bear, the cubs are each adorned with 5,000 white carnations. Coca-Cola and Bellagio encourage guests to share their favorite photo of the Coca-Cola polar bear at the Conservatory on social media using #BellagioHoliday and #MakeSomeoneHappy; Coca-Cola will donate $1 to Toys for Tots for every picture uploaded throughout the season, up to $50,000.

Across the Conservatory, animated penguins can be found building igloos and frolicking with one another near a stage for live holiday performances, 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. nightly. Glimmering millennium stars ranging from 12 to 18 feet hang from above, illuminating the garden with a soft glow.

The Conservatory is complimentary to the public and open 24 hours a day.
Located adjacent to the Conservatory, Jean Philippe Pâtisserie continues its sweet holiday traditions. An impressive five-foot-tall chocolate Santa Claus, hand-carved from 230 pounds of dark chocolate and 50 pounds of fondant, sits in his favorite chair.

A winter wonderland would not be complete without the seasonal sounds of Las Vegas’ most iconic attraction. The Fountains of Bellagio feature special performances of classic holiday tunes such as Hallelujah Chorus, O Holy Night and Santa Baby throughout the season. The Fountains are complimentary with performances beginning at 3 p.m. Monday – Friday; noon on Saturdays and holidays; and 11 a.m. on Sundays.

Musical Group MO5AIC Releases New Holiday Album! Donate To Fave Charity!!

Forget the fruitcake, toss the tie and just say no to the nutcracker.  This holiday season, give the gift of music with MO5AIC’s new holiday album CHRISTMA5 SWEATER5. MO5AIC will have the album available for download to all on their website, www.MO5AIC.com beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 9.  In spirit of the holiday season the hit a cappella group is offering CHRISTMA5 SWEATER5 for free, but encourages all who download this album to donate to their favorite charity.  Links to download the new album will also be available on the group’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MO5IAC.

CHRISTMA5 SWEATER5 consists of traditional holiday favorites with the MO5AIC touch including “We Three Kings,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Silent Night,” “What Child Is This,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “Carol of the Bells.” MO5AIC fans will also appreciate the signature character only the group can bring through various “Sweaterludes” and their original take on “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?”

“People might be asking, why did we choose this silly CHRISTMA5 SWEATER5 approach to our holiday album?,” says Josh Huslig, who founded MO5AIC in 2002.  “Well, for me personally, it was a perfect homage to holidays gone by, when I was a young boy, forced to wear all the latest and greatest “gift-sweaters” from relatives and church friends alike.  I mean, those sweaters sort of became synonymous with the holiday warm-fuzzies, eggnog and mistletoe make-out attempts.  And it's not until we look back at the ol' polaroids taken by grandma and grandpa that we truly realize just how special those sweaters really were.  I wanted to recreate that warm, awkward fuzzy once more.”

Hailed by icon Tony Bennett as “the best vocal group I’ve ever heard,” all-vocal group, MO5AIC consists of Josh Huslig, Heath Burgett, Jake Moulton, Corwyn Hodge and Roopak Ahuja. MO5AIC’s sound blends R&B, pop, rock, jazz, big band and Top 40 songs, all performed with a twist and suitable for all ages. The show will include audience interaction and will showcase the members’ endearing and entertaining camaraderie and humor.

Hailing from the tradition of a cappella music, MO5AIC performs with no instruments, using just their voices and microphones to create a full sound that frequently has audiences puzzling over where the band is MO5AIC was the winner of MTV’s Top Pop Group competition in 2008 and semi-finalists of NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2009 and has since opened for Prince, Stevie Wonder, Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas and Jay Leno.

The result is vocally astounding performances, such as its rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, that have audiences gobsmacked at what is coming out of their mouths. MO5AIC has also garnered accolades from many fellow performers including Boyz II Men who are currently headlining their own Las Vegas residency at The Mirage Hotel. The two groups first met in 2007 when MO5AIC won a nationwide search held by CBS’s The Early Show for “The Next Great A Cappella Group” judged by Boyz II Men. New Interesting Items Added To The Exhibits At The Mob Museum!

Three new exhibit items are now on view at The Mob Museum, The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement.  The Museum actively seeks artifacts to broaden and deepen its collection, pursuing artifacts that help tell the story of the historic battle between organized crime and law enforcement, as well as the reflections of that battle in popular culture.

The new exhibit items include:
The Nucky Thompson “Death Suit”: Steve Buscemi, who played bootlegging gangster Enoch “Nucky” Thompson in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, wore this three-piece suit in the series finale, in which his character was killed on the Atlantic City boardwalk. The suit features a bullet hole where the character was shot.

Nucky Johnson Culinary Trophy: Enoch “Nucky” Johnson, Atlantic City organized crime boss during the Prohibition era, sponsored this silver cup, which was awarded to Omer Bondoux in a culinary contest in 1925. Bondoux was the chef at the Breakers Hotel in Atlantic City. The Nucky Thompson character in Boardwalk Empire was inspired by the real-life Nucky Johnson.

Paulie Walnuts Track Suit: Tony Sirico, who played Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri in HBO’s The Sopranos, wore the track suit during the opening scene of Season 6, Episode 4. Paulie is shown walking out of a SCUBA shop toward his car. In this episode, he learns his Aunt Dottie, a nun, is actually his mother.

“‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ are among the great celluloid achievements in dramatizing the endlessly fascinating narrative of the Mob-law enforcement dynamic,” explains Geoff Schumacher, director of content, The Mob Museum.

The Latest Holiday Hairstyles & Make-Up Trends From Micheal Boychuck

Holiday Hair
Holiday Make-Up

With party season upon us, hair guru and owner of COLOR Salon at Caesars Palace Michael Boychuck predicts that caramel and honey blonde shades, styled up-dos and a pop of red lip stick will grab everyone’s attention this holiday season.

Boychuck, who recently opened his newest salon at Life Time Athletic Green Valley, believes deep honey blonde shades with caramel highlights and ombré coloring will be popular hair colors for women to don during the festive season. These looks will create a warmer look for the colder months ahead.

“Holiday hair trends for 2014 are simple, yet sexy,” Boychuck said. “Both holiday hair and makeup should be elegant, but still casual enough to easily transform from day to night.”

Boychuck says that beautifully styled buns are a classy look for any holiday party. This hairstyle allows women to spice up their holiday look, in addition to vibrant makeup anticipated for this season. Women can add a pop of color with a bright red lip and add neutral shades of eye makeup with long plump lashes to complete the look. For those who want a more casual look, a low side ponytail with accent braids is a classic style that is fun and flirty.

Shiny, neutral and glittery colors are the predicted nail colors for the holiday season this year. The Las Vegas-based colorist to the stars predicts that women will be sporting light pink, white and gray palettes, such as bubblegum pink, stark white and Heather gray.
