Healing Garden Sprouts Up At The Shade Tree W/Help From The Venetian/Palazzo

The new healing garden at The Shade Tree shelter in Las Vegas is now blossoming thanks to the IMEX Challenge, The Sands Expo and The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas.

Meeting industry professionals who attended the IMEX America exhibition at the Sands Expo Oct. 14-16, along with volunteers from Sands Expo, The Venetian and The Palazzo, rolled up their sleeves to create a unique one-of-a-kind lush garden at The Shade Tree center for abused women, their children and pets.

This initiative was spearheaded by a humanitarian challenge set forth by IMEX America, in partnership with Sands Cares and The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas. Sands Cares, the charitable arm of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. and GES teamed up with IMEX America as host sponsors of the challenge. In addition, a team from Sands Cares created the space from the very beginning from design outlines for the space, and covered all costs.

“This beautiful healing garden can serve as a place to get away, pray and have some quiet time or read a book” said John Caparella, president and COO of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “The Shade Tree is a great organization and both IMEX and Sands are happy to be a part of what we can do to help."

Accomplished Actor/Musician Tyler Posey Enjoys Bday At LV Hotspot Hakkasan Las Vegas

Friday, Oct. 17,  actor and musician Tyler Posey was spotted enjoying his birthday celebration at Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub inside MGM Grand. The popular twenty-three year old “Teen Wolf” star was joined by a number of close friends and was seen in good spirits, celebrating into the night.

Arriving to the nightclub around midnight, Posey and friends got comfortable at their VIP table located on the main stage and were eager to let the revelry begin. Shortly after the group’s arrival, the young star was surprised when a procession of cocktail waitresses presented him with a custom double layer birthday cake decked out after the heartthrob’s love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles, with a special “Happy Birthday Tyler” message embedded in the top tier. After posing for a few photos with the chopper inspired dessert, Posey and his buddies continued to enjoy their boys’ night out. Between the high energy and swift beats of Fergie DJ, the party was in full swing inside the hot spot. The Hollywood star and friends were seen dancing the night away, captivating the energy that one can only find in the fabulous city of Las Vegas.

 Prior to entering the club, Posey and friends were spotted dining inside Hakkasan Restaurant’s main dining room where they came together to toast the young star’s birthday and indulge in culinary creations from the internationally renowned destination. The group enjoyed a delicious meal including a number of Hakkasan's signature dishes such as Hakka steamed dim sum platter and Spicy Prawn with Lily Bulb and Almonds and much more. Finishing up the delectable dinner Posey's friends took a moment to sing happy birthday to the "Teen Wolf" star as they indulged in one of the restaurants delightful deserts before making their way into the nightclub.

Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas (ECF) hosted its 13th annual M.E.N.U.S. (Mentoring and Educating Nevada’s Upcoming Students) event on Friday night at MGM Grand, with an exclusive poolside dine-around and entrance to a concert by the Zac Brown Band at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

ECF supporters enjoyed more than 30 participating restaurants including: CRUSH eat, drink, love from MGM Grand serving grilled Chilean sea bass and tuna tostada; Giada from The Cromwell serving orzo meatballs and chocolate peanut butter cookies; Aureole from Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino serving grilled hanger steak; and Zenshin Asian Restaurant from South Point Hotel Casino & Spa serving mini malassadas and ahi poke tacos; among others.

The dine-around was followed by a rocking performance by three-time Grammy Award-winning country sensation, Zac Brown Band. Notable guests at M.E.N.U.S. included: Jason Shkorupa, president of ECF and vice president of food and beverage for MGM Grand; Ana Marie Mormando, ECF vice president and vice president of hotel operations for Bellagio; Larry Ruvo, vice president of Southern Wine & Spirits; Lincoln Spoor, owner of Feel Good Brands; and Stowe Shoemaker, dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at University of Nevada, Las Vegas; among others. Local entertainers also participated in ECF’s ‘purple carpet’ such as Carrot Top, Jabbawockeez, FANTASY and Thunder from Down Under.

M.E.N.U.S. is an annual event that raises money to support ECF’s primary charitable endeavor of providing full-ride scholarships to deserving local students interested in pursuing careers in hospitality or the culinary arts. Since 2001, ECF has donated more than $1 million to Clark County students.

R&B Songstress Tinashe Held Official Album Release At TAO! PARTY!

Thursday afternoon, rapidly rising R&B songstress Tinashe was spotted at TAO Beach. Joined by a small group of close friends, the group soaked up the sun and enjoyed a few dishes from the TAO kitchen including the Buddha burger, wings and chicken Caesar salad.

Later that night, Tinashe hosted the official album release party for her debut studio album “Aquarius” at TAO Nightclub. After enjoying dinner at TAO Asian Bistro, she took over a VIP table upstairs inside the nightclub. She kicked off the celebration for the highly anticipated album with a performance of a few hits from it including “All Hands on Deck,” her newest single “Pretend” and the huge hit “2 On.” Following the performance, Tinashe returned to her table where she was surprised with a congratulatory custom cake featuring the cover of “Aquarius.” She spent the rest of her night dancing with friends to the sounds of DJ Five and graciously took time to pose for photos with adoring fans on the dance floor.

Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at The LINQ will cast a Halloween spell with an array of flavorful libations, available exclusively on Friday, Oct. 31.

The spooktacular concoctions, each priced at $10, include the morgue-a-rita, a classic margarita made with maraschino cherry syrup and topped with a festive green garnish; the black magic, made with vodka and Triple Sec served over ice with an orange wedge; the black martini, made with black vodka, Blue Curaçao, Bacardi Black Razz and topped with a lemon twist; the el diablo, made with Reposado Tequila, crème de cassis and ginger beer; and the bride of Frankenstein, made with Chambord, sparkling wine and pineapple juice.

Bewitching shot selections include the black widow, made with chilled black vodka, cranberry juice and finished with a cherry and a red sugar rim; the peach death, made with equal parts vodka, peach schnapps and amaretto; the screaming green monster, made with Malibu Rum, Midori Melon Liqueur, Bacardi 151 Rum, pineapple juice and Sierra Mist; and the blood bath, made with tequila and strawberry purée, each priced at $7.

Seasonal featured beers include Magic Hat Wilhelm Scream Pumpkin Ale and Firestone Oaktober, each priced at $7. Syringe shots, priced at $5, will also be available.
