The
new healing garden at The Shade Tree shelter in Las Vegas is now blossoming
thanks to the IMEX Challenge, The Sands Expo and The Venetian and The Palazzo
Las Vegas.
Meeting
industry professionals who attended the IMEX America exhibition at the Sands
Expo Oct. 14-16, along with volunteers from Sands Expo, The Venetian and The
Palazzo, rolled up their sleeves to create a unique one-of-a-kind lush garden
at The Shade Tree center for abused women, their children and pets.
This
initiative was spearheaded by a humanitarian challenge set forth by IMEX
America, in partnership with Sands Cares and The Venetian and The Palazzo Las
Vegas. Sands Cares, the charitable arm of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. and GES
teamed up with IMEX America as host sponsors of the challenge. In addition, a
team from Sands Cares created the space from the very beginning from design
outlines for the space, and covered all costs.
“This
beautiful healing garden can serve as a place to get away, pray and have some
quiet time or read a book” said John Caparella, president and COO of The
Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo. “The Shade Tree is a great organization
and both IMEX and Sands are happy to be a part of what we can do to help."
