Australian Pink Floyd Band Brings "Eclipsed By The Moon" To The Pearl!

Friday night at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort, Australian Pink Floyd brought their amazing live show ‘Eclipsed By The Moon’ to Las Vegas Pink Floyd fans. Recognized as the top Pink Floyd tribute act, the band flowed seamlessly between Pink Floyd classics showing their incredible musical talents. From Learning to Fly and Money to Wish You Were Here and Young Lust.

This tour was unique in that the audience members voted for the songs they wanted to hear in an online voting poll. The top songs  made up Friday night’s set list.

The band formed in Adelaide, Australia in 1988 consisting of Steve Mac, Jason Sawford, Colin Wilson, Dave Fowler, Alex McNamara, Paul Bonney, Mike Kidson, Lorelei McBroom, Lara Smiles and Emily Lynn. The band is so authentic and popular that they were personally asked by David Gilmour, singer of Pink Floyd, to play at his private 50th Birthday party and Nick Mason, drummer of Pink Floyd, recently told BBC Radio in an interview that the Australian Pink Floyd were “probably better than us.”

UFC Fighter Joe "One Bad Mofo" Soto Parties! In Vegas At Crazy Horse III

World-renowned UFC fighter Joe “One Bad Mofo” Soto hosted the UFC 178 viewing party at The Sports Bar inside Crazy Horse III on Saturday night.

The UFC star watched the fight with anticipation as Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Chris “Kamikaze” Cariaso battled it out for the world flyweight championship. During the evening’s fight night festivities Soto kept the crowd energized, mingled with fans and raffled off a variety of prizes.

A Bottle(s) Of Rum And A GREAT Dinner At Tommy Bahamas!

Tuesday night we had the pleasure to take a part in an enchanting evening of rum tasting at Tommy Bahama. This is the first time we’ve been to the store or the restaurant, but we are happy to say that we will be back again.  On the tour we learned that The Tommy Bahama Restaurant has the largest selection of rum in Las Vegas.  Why is the rum always gone?  That question will never be asked here!

The evening began with a trip around the retail store with a rum tasting quiz.  Based on the information given we had to guess the name of each rum.  It was a tasty tour to say the least! We didn't win the grand prize, but the quiz was a fun way to explore the store and check out the Tommy Bahama apparel and novelties.  Some of our favorite items included a bottle opener made from a major league baseball bat, glassware with pineapple etching, and a wonderful bamboo drink cart.

After the quiz we enjoyed an amazing three course meal envisioned by new Executive Chef John Baez.  Promoted from Souz Chef, Baez created a meal paired with signature TB drinks and he didn’t miss a mark.

The dinner began with an appetizer: Saffron & Sherry Cask Rum Infused Sea Scallops.   Trust us when we say, this was a party in our mouths.  The Sea Scallops melted like butter and were complemented with warm brussel sprout and furikake bacon salad.  Mixed with pepitas, charred scallions, and tossed in a sweet soy and pumpkin oil vinaigrette.  Everyone at the table remarked how they hated brussel sprouts as a kid, but enjoyed this salad.  To be honest, we almost licked our plates clean!

The paired cocktail was a Thai Mojito with Mehkong Rum, Thai Basil, Lemongrass Syrup and soda water.  The drink was very refreshing and wonderful on the palette.

An intermezzo was presented to cleanse our taste buds and get us ready for the next surprise.  A Petite Filet Mignon and Garlic Ginger Grilled Prawns.  This meal was prepared expertly and should be a regular feature on the menu.  What amazing texture and tenderness, it was a show stopping entree and a balance of sweet with a Port Rum Maitake Demi-Glace and  Hibiscus Beurre Blanc.

For the paring, we were treated to a Cruzan Black Strap Porto with Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup.  This was a dessert in itself and topped with a black cherry soaked in 151.

For dessert, Brioche Chocolate Bread Pudding with Raspberry Crème Anglaise, Blueberry Rum Caramel and a topped with a candied orange.  Remember that scene from When Harry Met Sally?  Yes, it was that good!

For our final pairing we were treated to The Diplomat.  This dink is created with House Barrel-Aged Diplomatico Reserva Rum, Masterons’ Rye, Clement Creole Shrubb, and Black Walnut Bitters.   Yes, they actually do the barrel aging of the rum in house.  It’s very clever, and one bottle can accommodate 12 drinks.  It’s created in a bottle with a piece of barrel inserted into the rum.  This process was pretty ingenious if you ask us.

There are 5 Tommy Bahama locations around Las Vegas including an outlet location, but the restaurant can only be found at Town Square.  Stop in and tell them we sent you, and don’t forget to try the rum!

Rooftop Party On Saturday At Chateau Nightclub Hosted By MMA Champ "Mighty Mouse" Johnson

Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop will open the dance floor to the MMA world this weekend with a fight expo party on Friday, Sept. 26 and MMA post-fight party, hosted by MMA champion Demetrious “Might Mouse” Johnson and UFC Middleweight competitor, Tim Kennedy, on Saturday, Sept. 27.
