Over The Hump In Pahrump! Stockman's Steakhouse To Participate In Three Square Restaurant Week!

Three Square’s annual Fall Restaurant Week has extended its list of participating restaurants to include Pahrump, Nev.  Stockman’s Steakhouse at the Pahrump Nugget will be the first restaurant in Pahrump to participate in the annual fall event, taking place August 22-28 this year.

In its eighth year, Restaurant Week includes top dining establishments offering a prix-fixe menu with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Three Square. Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank offering wholesome, nutritious food to nonprofit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites that serve the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties.

Stockman’s Steakhouse, voted the best steakhouse in rural Nevada and serving only USDA Choice or higher steaks, will offer three distinct prix-fixe menus during Fall Restaurant Week, ranging in price from $30.14 to $50.14.

Customers can choose between a 10-ounce Filet Mignon, the Cedar Plank Teriyaki Salmon or the Chicken Canberra, a sautéed chicken breast topped with provolone cheese and a Jim Beam sauce. All entrees are served with a side and come with a choice of House Salad or French Onion Soup. For dessert, diners can choose between a Raspberry or Chocolate Tart, served with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

“Stockman’s Steakhouse is offering some of their best signature dishes as part of this year’s annual Restaurant Week,” said William Bills, director of food and beverage at Pahrump Nugget. “Through our participation, we hope to help a great local cause and begin a long-lasting partnership.”

Since its inception in 2007, Restaurant Week has raised more than $852,000 for Three Square, including nearly $66,000 during this year’s Spring Restaurant Week, helping to provide more than 2.5 million meals to more than 340,000 food-insecure men, women and children in Southern Nevada.

Teens! Join Blue Man Group For A Behind The Scenes Virtual Tour!

Blue Man Group Las Vegas is the featured field trip for DIY Music week during the six-week Maker Camp program, a free DIY project-based camp for teens, hosted and produced by a partnership between Maker Media and Google. She was in town and took a ride on The High Roller Observation Wheel after her book signing at Kitson at The Linq in Las Vegas, NV on August 5, 2014. She delighted throngs of fans and be sure and check our her book "The Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat."

Grumpy Cat, real name Tardar Sauce, is a cat and Internet celebrity known for her grumpy facial expression. Her owner Tabatha Bundesen says that her permanently grumpy-looking face is due to feline dwarfism.

Tickets For Miss Asian Las Vegas Go On Sale 8/8/14!

Tickets for the second annual Miss Asian Las Vegas Pageant will go on sale on Friday, Aug. 8. The event will be held inside The Palazzo Theatre at The Palazzo Las Vegas on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices start at $28 (plus applicable service fees) and can be purchased at any Venetian or Palazzo box office or charge-by-phone at 866.641.7469.

The Miss Asian Las Vegas Pageant is the city’s premier beauty and culture pageant for Asian-Americans. The event provides a platform to help build leadership, friendships, community involvement, etiquette and talent for its contestants. In addition to traditional pageant rounds such as interviews, swimwear and evening gowns, the production will feature glamorous displays of Asian culture and costume. This year, the pageant will have representatives from Teen, Miss, Ms. and Mrs. categories with ages ranging from 15 – 52. A grand prize winner will be chosen in each category as well as a Chinese representative who will go on to compete in the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant.

At last year’s inaugural event, more than 600 guests came together to support the pageant and its contestants. Catherine Ho was crowned the 2013 winner and has advanced to compete in the national Miss Asian America Pageant taking place in San Francisco on Saturday, Aug. 2. Elisa Chan was awarded the Miss Chinese Las Vegas and competed in the Miss Nevada USA Pageant last January where she won Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Best Evening Gown. Connie Tsang was awarded a place to compete in Miss Chinatown USA Pageant in San Francisco last February.

It was rockin' Friday night with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and rollin' (in laughter!) Saturday night inside The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort. The venue was buzzing with one of the best looking crowds in Vegas as comedian Russell Peters took the stage.

Openers Kristine Vonhagen and Ruben Paul touched on subjects from being married to living in "the hood" before Peters took stage and started some crowd work. To sit in the front row of a Russell Peters show proves you can take a joke as Peters barely scanned the room before locking eyes on a fully-bearded gentleman in the front row - "I can't tell if you are a Lumberjack or a hipster. If you're here to 'smoke' trees or cut them." Of course, no one can ignore the Vegas sun and Peters soon called out a fair skinned fan "It's 116 degrees, how are you still so white?!" Peters continued on and gave the fans a Saturday night full of laughs.

Comedian Chris Tucker and MMA cutman Stitch both took in the show as well.

Next week, Cesar Millan takes the stage of The Pearl in his first-ever Vegas show to teach dog lovers how to have a better, successful and overall healthier relationship with their dogs.
