Esteemed Comedian Bill Cosby Returning To Treasure Island! Get Your Tix!

Following a sold-out performance in March, iconic funny man Bill Cosby brings his signature comedy back to the Treasure Island Theatre July 18 at 8 p.m.

Known the world over for “The Cosby Show,” which ran from 1984 to 1992 on NBC, Cosby broke racial barriers and sent a powerful message to viewers – the family unit and raising children matters most. The No. 1 rated sitcom earned six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes and 10 People’s Choice Awards. It helped set the stage for Cosby’s career as an author, as his book “Fatherhood” remained at No. 1 for more than half of its 54 weeks on The New York Times Best Seller List. Among Cosby’s other titles are “Time Flies,” “Love and Marriage” and most recently, “I Didn’t Ask to be Born: (But I’m Glad I Was).”

In December 2013 Cosby’s first comedy specials in thirty years, “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished,” debuted on Comedy Central, and he was recently signed by NBC to star in a new sitcom.

A champion of youth, Cosby’s dedication to helping children realize their potential is evidenced through his Emmy Award-winning “Little Bill” animated series, which aired on Nickelodeon and CBS. His other television and film credits include “Obkb,” “Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids,” “The Cosby Mysteries,” “Man and Boy” and “Uptown Saturday Night.”

Few entertainers have achieved the legendary status of Cosby, who emerged from humble beginnings in a Philadelphia housing project. After returning from the Navy, Cosby went on to earn a degree at Temple University and later a master’s and doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts. His lifelong contributions to American culture were recognized with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1998, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in July 2002, and the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2009.

Tickets are available starting at $59.95, plus taxes and service charges, and can be purchased by calling 866-712-9308 or 702-894-7722, or visiting www.treasureisland.com.

All Updated Winners And Series Leaders From Las Vegas Motor Speedway!

Scott Gafforini maintained his lead in the NASCAR Super Late Model points standings at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway but Don Sargent saw his once-comfortable lead in the NASCAR Bomber class trimmed to 19 points after 10 weeks of racing.

Gafforini finished fourth in the 76-lap Super Late Model feature during the July 3 “Night of Fire” at The Bullring, but still holds a 20-point lead over David Anderson and a 27-point edge over Dennis Rock Jr.
In the Bomber class, Sargent’s victory on July 3 was disallowed when he declined the post-race tchnical inspection. In the NASCAR Super Stock division, Vinny Raucci Jr. holds a narrow eight-point lead over Jason Kiser while four-time race winner Phil Goodwin is 23 points off the pace.

The closest points battle at The Bullring continues to be in the Bandolero Outlaws class, where 14-year-old Joey Paonessa of Henderson and 12-year-old Caden Carlin of Las Vegas are tied with 556 points after 12 races.

Other class points leaders are Jason Irwin (Grand American Modified), Peyton Saxton (Legend Car Pro), Michael Todd Glazer (Legend Car Master), Devin Lane (Legend Car Semi-Pro), Jordan Dean (Legend Car Young Lions), Chris Bosley (Thunder Car) and Dezel West (Bandolero Bandits).

Who Turned 30 In Vegas? Hint Initials KK And Where???

Nazanin Mandi, Miguel, Khloe Kardashian and French Montana at TAO

Friday afternoon, Khloe Kardashian kicked off her Las Vegas birthday celebrations at TAO Beach. Joined by her boyfriend, rapper French Montana and a large group of friends, Khloe enjoyed the daytime party atmosphere from a VIP cabana.

That evening, Khloe celebrated her 30th birthday at TAO. Joined again by French Montana and friends Malika Haqq and her twin sister Khadijah Haqq McCray, the star dazzled on the red carpet before heading in to the restaurant for a celebratory dinner. The crowd of fans that had gathered around the red carpet hours prior to Khloe’s arrival sang her “Happy Birthday” and she graciously made her way over to them to pose for several photos. Once inside the restaurant, R&B crooner Miguel and girlfriend Nazanin Mandi joined the group. Everyone enjoyed several signature dishes and an array of sushi from the Asian kitchen.

After dinner, the entire crew headed upstairs to TAO Nightclub and took over a VIP table on the dance floor. As they arrived, cell phones flew into the air to take photos and the crowd erupted with cheers. Shortly after, Khloe was surprised in true Vegas fashion with a four-tier custom cake presented by two showgirls and an Elvis impersonator as confetti rained down. DJ Eric D-Lux dropped several of French Montana’s hits and Khloe sang along as partygoers went wild. Khloe then grabbed the mic to say hi to the crowd of excited fans and thank them for celebrating with her. Ciroc provided custom “Khloe 30” t-shirts which the star playfully posed for photos with her friends in. The star danced to hip hop anthems and kept her celebration going late into the night.

Also spotted at TAO was mixed martial artist Georges St-Pierre. The UFC welterweight world champion enjoyed the sounds of DJ Eric D-Lux from a VIP table with friends.

Kona Grill Brings You Wine Down Wednesdays! HUMP DAY!

Read Melody Meadows Story & How You Help This Precious Pooch!!

Melody at Vet

Melody 7/7/14
She lay there in a cage all alone and in pain. What am I doing there? What is going on? Why am I in such terrible pain? This is what little Pomeranian Melody must have been thinking. A little 11 pound Pomeranian that ended up in the shelter covered with bite marks and a horribly matted coat was simply waiting to die.

Melody was in such pain and no one had taken the time to examine her and see that she was covered in bites that she had simply given up. Appetite gone, spark in her eyes gone. When she was visited by the wonderful people who go into the shelters and take pictures of animals in need she would not even lift her head to be petted or have her little ears scratched. What no one realized is that under all that matted fur little Melody had several large and infected wounds. No one knows what happened to her; she was either mauled or might have even been used as a bait dog. Her wounds were infected and were oozing pus.

If Melody would have spent even two more days in this condition she would have most likely passed to the Rainbow Bridge unassisted. Thanks to the power of social media Melody now has a chance for a good life!

Her picture along with the information of “★★ AT RISK FOR EUTHANASIA ★★ PER SHELTER, NEEDS RESCUE COMMITMENT BY EOB MONDAY JUNE 23RD was noticed by a rescue in Las Vegas. On Friday June 20th the instant messages were flying about how to rescue this little girl. A volunteer said that she would go and “pull” Melody and foster her until she could be transported to Las Vegas. So she went to the shelter and pulled little Melody. For the first time in several days Melody showed that she was not ready to give up yet. She nuzzled and licked her rescuer’s hand as if to say “thank you!!” By this time Melody had also picked up the dreaded “kennel cough” which is an infection of the lungs and sinuses. So off to the vet she went. It was there that the horrible condition of her wounds was discovered.

For those of you that do not deal with rescuing and pulling it is a very hard and heartbreaking job but the rewards are so great! It can only be imagined the horror and the sadness that her rescuer felt as her coat was shaved and the full extent was realized of how sick she really was. Her coat had been partially shaved in the shelter but only where the largest wound was, she also has several wounds on her body which had gone undetected. Immediately she was hooked up an IV and given powerful antibiotics. Vets also have a hard job too. How do they so no to dogs that are in such need yet keep their doors open and pay their staff? With the donations and big hearts that pledges like these raise every day! Through the power of social media Melody had already approximately $700 in pledges. These are pledges of money that go towards helping an animal become well and adoptable. However these are just those, pledges which depending upon circumstances can come through in an hour or weeks.

Not only did she need her IV and antibiotics Melody needed pain medication and an x-ray to see if the wounds were deep and if they had punctured any organs. Lucky girl, the wounds were deep surface wounds but had not penetrated any organs, nor was there internal bleeding of any type. She stayed overnight and the next day Melody was released into the care of her temporary foster Mom. It was a frightening night! Due to her kennel cough she was having a hard time breathing and going to sleep. Finally dreamland opened its gates and Melody walked through! She is now on Wednesday the 25th still resting and taking her antibiotics and pain medication. Her appetite is still very small and she has decided to eat nothing but Vienna sausages. Melody will be flying to her permanent foster home soon through Pilots for Paws. However she still has a laundry list of ongoing health related issues to have taken care of before she can find her forever home. Her wounds need to heal and close, she needs to be spayed and her teeth need to be cleaned. During this entire ordeal Melody has remained the sweetest loving dog. She gives “kisses” and the light has come back into her sweet eyes (which the vet will have to check as they look a little milky.) All of this will cost quite a bit of money and we wish to thank everyone who not only stopped to read her story but who also generously contributes to her road to recovery! Please adopt don’t shop and give dogs like Melody a second chance for a good life.

Deadheads Take Over The Pearl! Pack the House To See RatDog!

On Saturday night, RatDog went on to perform for a packed house of deadheads even though frontman Bob Weir was unable able to perform due to illness.  The band went on to jam the night away playing Grateful Dead hit songs including “U.S. Blues,” “Ramble on Rose” and “Shakedown Street” with RatDog drummer Jay Lane on vocals.

Friday night saw the first official “ruled” muay thai event at The Pearl. Comedian and UFC Announcer Joe Rogan was in attendance, as well as UFC fighter Brandon Thatch and Lion Fight CEO Scott Kent.

UFC Champion Chuck Liddell Gets Sweet In Vegas!

UFC legend, Chuck Liddell, dined at Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Paris Hotel Casino and Resort in Las Vegas and went candy shopping at Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Town Square Sunday afternoon.

The former UFC champion, who was joined by his family, indulged in the Paris eatery’s signature burger while his wife, Heidi, enjoyed the pan-roasted Pacific salmon. Liddell’s children feasted on the barbecue roasted chicken pizza, the four cheese pizza and the fried macaroni and cheese pops.

The family polished off their savory feast with a dessert extravaganza, ordering the decadent S’mores Crepe along with two of Sugar Factory’s world-famous King Kong Sundaes, each made with: 24 scoops of ice cream, cupcakes, sprinkles, caramel sauce, fudge sauce, strawberry shavings, sliced bananas, toasted walnuts, whipped cream and giant swirly pops.

After lunch, the group headed to Sugar Factory American Brasserie at Town Square, where they picked out several giant bags of Swedish Fish, assorted M&M’s, Mike and Ikes and Jelly Bellys. The family also selected an array of signature Sugar Factory Couture Pops, including: Sin City Sparkler, Lady Luck and one of Liddell’s children’s favorites, Black Onyx.
