Fundraiser For Deceased Taxi Driver Michael Boldon At Origins India! $5!

Origin India Restaurant and Bar will host a special fundraiser event, on Friday, March 15, from 11:30am to 3:30 pm, to recognize the work of hundreds of Las Vegas professional taxicab drivers and the memory of Desert Cab driver Michael Boldon.

Drivers will be treated to a to-go Tiffin lunch box special filled with an entrée, along with two restaurant-chosen side dishes, rice and naan. A minimum donation of $5 per Tiffin lunch is requested and all proceeds will go directly to the Michael Bolton Memorial Fund.

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Michael Boldon,” said Raja Majid, owner of Origin India. “We would like to take this time to recognize the hardworking men and women who provide reliable and quality taxicab service to the residents of Las Vegas and our tourists during this difficult time.”

Dazzling Display Of Diamonds & Jewels From The Titanic Coming On 3/22!

Jewels of Titanic, a dazzling display consisting of fifteen of the most prestigious jewelry artifacts  recovered from R.M.S. Titanic will go on display March 22 – May 31 at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at Luxor Hotel and Casino. On Saturday, March 16, it’s an “Ain’t Patrick’s Day” celebration, with Pete Contino’s zydeco band, CONTINO, performing in the restaurant from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.  CONTINO, which features performers on accordion, bass, harmonica, keys and vocals, has recently secured a regular spot on the House of Blues nightly live music line-up in the restaurant, performing each week on Thursday and Saturday nights. 

On St. Patrick’s Day on Sunday, March 17, the Celtic music begins at noon and continues until 10 p.m., featuring:

12 noon – 1:30 p.m. – The Chancey Brothers

2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Celtic Connections

4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Derek Warfield & The Young Wolfe Tones

The restaurant will be offering Irish food specials including Corned Beef and Cabbage and Shepherd’s Pie all weekend, in addition to the regular menu.  There is no cover charge for the live music.

  

 For $45 plus gratuity, patrons 21 and over may purchase an All-You-Drink Beer Pass for the Beer Garden that will be located on deck inside the restaurant. The Beer Garden features 20 different beers, including Murphy’s Irish Stout and Strongbow, among others. No St. Patrick’s Day weekend is complete without Jameson Irish Whiskey which will also be available for purchase.  All-You-Can-Drink Beer tickets may be purchased at the House of Blues Box Office or at Ticketmaster.com in advance or at the door..

Crafted in the warm pub style of 19th century Ireland, Rí Rá Las Vegas is located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.  The authentic Irish pub features a multitude of artifacts that were carefully restored in Wicklow, Ireland and shipped to their new home in Las Vegas.  Rí Rá Las Vegas contains an authentic Victorian Shop bar that began its life in Ireland in the 1880s, a whiskey bar adorned with an original glazed jewelry cabinet from 1900, an oak floor from a whiskey distillery and an 8-foot-tall, 500-pound carved plaster statue of St. Patrick dating back to 1850.  The pub hosts live entertainment seven nights a week in a music room constructed with artifacts dating back to 1890 from the Olympia Theater in Dublin, Ireland. Born and raised in Dublin, Rí Rá Las Vegas owners David Kelly and Ciaran Sheehan have been close friends since they were 14-years-old. Kelly and Sheehan later partnered with Jay Luther, whom Kelly met while working for Guinness. Rí Rá Las Vegas is the 12th pub the trio has opened in the U.S.
