YES! March 5th Party With The Most Interesting Woman At PURE Nightclub!

Grateful Dead Singer Bob Weir Takes The Stage At The Pearl

The Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir took to the stage at The Pearl Concert Theater inside Palms Casino Resort for an amazing acoustic show. With a mix of hits spanning decades and a few covers, including Music Never Stopped, Loose Lucy and Sugar Magnolia, among many others, Weir had the audience up dancing throughout the night.

Actor LUKE WILSON attended the show as well with a friend.

Following the concert, WEIR visited 9 Steakhouse and enjoyed a four-course dinner with a large group.

ADDITIONAL BOB WEIR INFO:
For nearly 50 years, Bob Weir has been known for being the most distinctive rhythm guitarist in rock ‘n’ roll. Influenced by hard bop pianist McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane and Igor Stravinsky, Weir has brought unusual depth and a new approach to the role of rhythm guitar expression over the years.

At age 17, Weir became the co-founder, guitarist and vocalist of the improvisational jam band Grateful Dead. The band enjoyed a 30-year career with songs written by Weir, including “Truckin’,” “Sugar Magnolia” and “Cassidy.” Weir also found success apart from the group, releasing his first solo album Ace in 1972 and playing in a number of other bands such as Kingfish, Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, Scaring the Children, RatDog and Furthur. In 1994, Weir and his band mates of Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2007 they were honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Weir has participated in various reformations with Grateful Dead members, such as stints as The Other Ones and The Dead. Weir has also collaborated in recording and on stage performances with Bob Dylan, bassist Rob Wasserman, pianist Bruce Hornsby, saxophonist Branford Marsalis and Black Crowes' singer Chris Robinson, and in 2008 he performed in two Deadheads for Obama concerts. Weir continues to stay active with RatDog and Furthur, co-led by former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh.

Coming To Vegas! Rocker Rick Allen's Art Exhibit!

Music fans and art aficionados are about to see their worlds collide (and rocked) when the global introduction of Rick Allen’s prolific and distinctive art exhibit, Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change, makes its art stage debut at the 26,000 square foot Martin Lawrence Galleries at The Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas from Mar. 22 – April 10.

Already home to the masters and the best contemporary artists of our time, the Martin Lawrence Galleries will curate the work of Rick Allen, one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most prolific drummers and a member of rock’s most elite bands, Def Leppard.  While Allen and his band have sold over 100 million records and toured the world many times over, the exhibit will have only one tour stop, Martin Lawrence Galleries in Las Vegas.
The unique exhibition will be staged appropriately alongside Warhol’s Mick Jagger suite.  Besides being on display for the three-week period, all pieces will be available for purchase at the gallery.  Additionally, Allen will make special appearances on Mar. 28th and Apr. 4th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. where he will explain the unique process of his art and the inspiration for the exhibit.   Allen will also be unveiling and signing a limited edition exhibition art print.

Event Details:
•6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – View Rick Allen art, Videos and enjoy the music of Def Leppard
 •7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m – Q&A - Rick Allen Presents: Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change
•8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Rick Allen Art Signing (for those that purchase prints)

With Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change, Allen is translating rhythm into a visual art medium through an extensive process involving drumbeat, light, photography and graphic design.  The result is a collection of abstract imagery built directly from Allen’s rhythmic prowess.  As one of the pioneers in this new medium, Allen is holding true to his lifetime of breaking barriers and new ground.  As for the actual process behind the visual, Allen is creating the artwork’s imagery by capturing rhythm.  Like a painter uses brushes of different colors, Allen is using lighted drumsticks of different colors, widths and temperatures to perform.  Then, through a sophisticated process involving the time-lapsed performance, Allen and SceneFour (a Los Angeles creativity house specializing in the conceptual and design of Collaborative Artwork with musical icons) work together to manipulate captured light and color - bringing out the abstract nature of the rhythm before it is laid to canvas.

“The collection reveals something that up until recently I didn't even know existed, presenting sound into light," says Allen about his work.  “We know what rhythm and drum beats sound like, but what do they look like? This is a window and a new way to define the drumbeat and the rhythm as visual. It opens another dimension up, something that the eye doesn’t see until it is bottled up – a rhythmic performance – exposed in a single image.”

“While we are primarily known for our Warhol’s and Chagall’s, we found Rick’s work compelling and exciting,” explains gallery director, Staci Goulet.  “Las Vegas is always pushing the envelope when it comes to entertainment and now we are excited to be showcasing new art in a new realm.  We are thrilled that Martin Lawrence Galleries can be the exclusive venue for the debut of Rick’s collection.”
Information about the special exhibition can be found at www.rickallenart.com and at www.facebook.com/MartinLawerenceGalleriesLasVegas - click the Electric Hand link near the top of the page for details.  The event is Free, but please rsvp for Rick’s two appearances on Mar. 28 and Apr. 4 at: www.rickallenart.com . New Restaurant Opens - Vic's Offers Tappatizer's & Entrees & Desserts!

What do you get when you combine a celebrity chef with a larger-than-life personality, classic American fare with a twist, and unobstructed views of Las Vegas?  The simple one-word-answer is Vic’s, the new hilltop restaurant by Chef Vic Vegas, featuring 180 seats and wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling windows featuring stunning, unobstructed views of Las Vegas below.

Set in Anthem, Nev., the distinctive location of Vic’s is set amongst rolling hills, manicured country clubs and beautiful homes. Vic’s is just minutes from the bustling Las Vegas Strip, but is far enough away from the bright lights and glitter to awe guests with its almost 360 degree panoramic views.

“To me, the experience at Vic’s will be like being seated in the rear of a Bentley while cranking up “Welcome to the Jungle” with someone like The Rock as your chauffeur,” laughs Vic. “It’s the unexpected that makes life more interesting.”

While the view is definitely heavenly, the food is the true star of Vic’s. The menu is designed and orchestrated by Chef Vic Vegas and features a new take on a fine-dining restaurant; imagine country club cool meets rock ‘n’ roll - incorporating Vic’s unique persona with his culinary imagination in every course.

From Tappatizers to entrée’s to desserts, Vic’s sets out to make classic more exciting.  Selections range from signature starters such as Knish Sliders made with grilled pastrami, melted Swiss, potato stuffed roll and stone ground mustard to the Meatloaf Spring Rolls, prepared with Grandma’s meatloaf wrapped in a won-ton, deep fried to a golden crisp and served with pan gravy and ketchup aioli. If a guest is looking for something on the lighter side, Vic’s features a Watermelon, Mozzarella, Arugula Salad made with watermelon hearts, fresh mozzarella, baby arugula, toasted pistachio vinaigrette and a tad of gorgonzola.

The entrées showcase Vic’s distinctive flair for the unforgettable and include an eclectic mix ranging from the classic to the sublime. The Caramel Apple Pork Chop takes a broiled 16 oz. double-boned, center-cut pork chop and covers it with Grandma’s famous stuffing, topped with roasted caramel apple and butter whiskey broth; the Orange Roughy is sautéed and served over garlic mashed potato topped with sizzling shrimp scampi.  For those looking for something more classic, Vic's features Spaghetti & Meatball, made with a six hour marinara served over spaghetti, topped with a giant meatball and garlic bread topped with a spoonful of ricotta cheese.

By the time dessert rolls around, the lights from the Strip below are glowing and hopefully there is still room for Vic’s signature desserts. Delectable options range from the Nutterbutter made with orange soda battered deep fried Nutterbutter served with a chambord Welch’s grape juice reduction, the Crème Brulee Bread Pudding and Carrot Cake Cheese Cake Martini.

To make sure the guests at Vic’s capture the ultimate views and sunsets, Vic’s will be consulting the Almanac and posting sunset times on their Facebook page daily and tweeting the times to followers to ensure that guests can catch the sun setting over the Red Rock mountains. “The views are seriously incredible at Vic’s. I don’t think there is a better spot to sip a cocktail, enjoy a great meal or just hang with friends.  We also have a great patio area, so as the weather warms up, it’s really going to be the ultimate setting,” adds Vic.

Once a street kid from Staten Island, Vic grew up loving his mother’s authentic cooking back home in New York but always felt the pull of Las Vegas tugging at him.  Against all odds he made his way to Nevada, working as a cook, then a chef and then on to becoming one of the stand-out contestants on the hit series, The Next Food Network Star. “Being on that show was the college-experience I never had,” explains Vic. “It’s where I really learned about myself and figured out who I was and what I was made of professionally and personally. I’m really just the classic American story of capturing your dream through hard work. My journey from being a cook and then a chef at so many different restaurants and environments has shaped my philosophy and style.  However, it was my family’s love of cooking which influenced me most.  I eventually realized I was different; I am a non-conformist, so I took all of those influences and flipped them to make my own style.”

Vic’s is opening for dinner served between 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday –Thursday and 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  Lunch service will be added in the coming weeks. For more information call 702-522-7200..
