As I am sure that you are aware...our Las Vegas community has been thru the ringer! Some of the hardest hit are our four legged "fur friends." Over the past year Adopt A Rescue Pet has rescued, re-homed and helped thousands of dogs of all sizes. Added to this is the fact that some of the rescues in the neighboring areas have been forced to close and ARP has reached out to them and absorbed as many as humanly possible of these "furs in need!"

As with any organization funding is an issue. The vet bills run thousands of dollars a month and so does the food cost. So why are you receiving this email? WE ARE HAVING A PAWTY..Raising SNIP money!  "Spay, Neuter, Inoculate and Protect!!

AND 100% of the door money and 50% of the food and drink sales goes to help our four legged "furs." The "pawty" will be in the exclusive 2nd floor private room. Jabbawockeez celebrates 1st Anniversary!

This weekend Jabbawockeez celebrated the first anniversary of “MÜS.I.C.,” the group’s headlining show at Monte Carlo. Performers and show staff members danced the night away at a Strip-side private party at Monte Carlo. Recently extended to spring 2012, “MÜS.I.C.” is an audio-visual story of inspiration brought to life through the harmonization of sound and movement. The show has been hailed by critics as “AMAZING!” and “One of the hottest acts in the nation” since its debut at Monte Carlo in October 2010.

Hometown hero Brendan Gaughan is no stranger to victory lane at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 62 Big O Tires/South Point Hotel & Casino Toyota won the Smith’s 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series here in 2003.

“It’s Vegas. It’s home, so of course I’m excited,” said Gaughan, who has won eight Truck Series races to date. “We’re having the South Point bowling tournament for the crew guys again this year. It’s really about giving the crew guys a chance to have a good time.”

 Gaughan is a skilled and successful driver, having won two NASCAR K&N Series West championships as well as taking the GT class in the Rolex 24 this year at Daytona during Speedweeks.

The truck he most recently raced at New Hampshire will be pressed into service for this weekend’s Smith’s 350.

“Our strong run at New Hampshire is our precursor for heading to Las Vegas. It’s been to the wind tunnel recently and it has a different downforce balance than our other chassis. I think I’m gonna like the truck there. We’re looking to rekindle some old magic at home.” Saturday’s Smith’s 350 is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. and actress-singer Deana Martin will sing the national anthem. Spectator gates will open at 10 a.m.

Fall Beer Festival for two days!! 18 Breweries participating! At the Golden Nugget!

 The Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino will host their second annual Fall Beer Festival during a two-day event on October 14 & 15.

This two-day festival brings together consumers, craft beer vendors, live music, great food and hundreds of beers in two very different events.

The first event kicks off Friday, October 14, with the All American Craft Beer Tasting sponsored by Samuel Adams, from 7-10 P.M. in The Grand events center. Guests will have the opportunity to sample over 120 craft beer selections and enjoy chef-inspired appetizers while listening to live music and mingling with some of America’s hottest award-winning brew masters. One of the highlights of the evening will be the traditional “tapping of the kegs” featuring several seasonal artisan draft beers.  Additionally, each guest will receive a commemorative glass as a souvenir. Tickets to the event can be purchased individually for $50*.

Rounding out the second day, guests will enjoy a traditional Oktoberfest Pool Party sponsored by Paulaner Beer from Munich at the property’s award-winning pool and shark aquarium, The Tank, October 15 from 3-9 P.M. Admission is free and beer enthusiasts can enjoy 200 different international and domestic beers available for purchase while listening to an authentic German Oktoberfest band.

As an added incentive, guests interested in both events can receive discounted food and beer tickets for Saturday’s Oktoberfest Pool Party with paid admission to Friday’s All American Craft Beer Tasting.

Tomorrow...the world record for largest Margarita will be challenged!

On October 14^th, Margaritaville Las Vegas at the Flamingo will attempt to break the current World Record for the largest margarita ever made as verified by Guinness World Records.  After 3 days, and over 300 man hours of cocktail making, the two-story margarita, appropriately named “Lucky Rita” will celebrate its final pour at 5 O’clock making it the World’s Largest Margarita at an astounding 8,500 gallons. 

Following the final pour, Margaritaville will host a ceremony featuring an oversized salty margarita toast (the first drinks from Lucky Rita) with representatives from Margaritaville, Flamingo Las Vegas executives and members of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.  Parrotheads along with the public and media are encouraged to attend the event where all guests will be treated to entertainment, margaritas and Jimmy Buffett concert giveaways.

What the F@#k Was That?

That's was people all over the world have been saying after seeing Evil Dead The Musical... the only musical in the world with a splatter zone.

For those who don't know, this hilarious live stage show takes all the elements of the cult classic horror films, Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness then combines them to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time.

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes... and all to music.

The songs in the show are completely off the wall as well. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" and "What the F*@k was That" will have you rolling in your seats, and screaming for more and more blood.

You don't need to be a fan of Evil Dead to love this show. You don't need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don't even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun... this show is for you.

Nevada WildFest is in full swing! Thrillseekers wanted for zipline! FUN!

The company that brought Fremont Street Flightlines and Bootleg Canyon Flightlines to the Las Vegas Valley is stretching their adventure arm to Henderson, by bringing a zip line experience to the wild fest.

Thrillseekers will have a breathtaking view of the majestic Las Vegas strip as they wait atop the take off tower to soar like a bird down a 700 foot zipline. Their flight takes them sailing 60 feet above the cheering spectators below! The best part: photos will be available so you can prove to your friends you took the plunge!

Prices are just $20 per rider, with family specials available! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Lili Claire foundation. Riders under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver to fly. There is a weight limit of a minimum of 60 pounds and maximum of 250 pounds.
