After launching his partnership with the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education this week, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist and Las Vegas headliner Carlos Santana invited students from the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy’s Drum Line to perform in the opening number of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits on Feb. 6 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The drum line had the crowd on their feet cheering and clapping as they kicked off the show. Rocking out all night long, Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf were also in attendance to support their long time friend Carlos Santana and the Academy’s Drum Line.
Santana is encouraging public donations through video messaging during his live performances of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits from now until February 21. Audience members at the show can donate to the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education in increments of $5 via text message. Concertgoers will be prompted to text the word “Kids” to 20222 in order to make a contribution. Messaging and data rates may apply and a one-time $5 donation is charged to the user’s wireless bill. The Andre Agassi Foundation for Education can receive donations through March 31 via text or at any time through their web site at agassifoundation.org.

TAO brought Vegas to Miami for the big game with a Superbowl Party at Wall Nightclub inside the W Hotel in South Beach. A few notes from Friday night’s festivities include:
Celeb DJ Swizz Beatz, producer of Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind, playing the song over and over again for Alex Rodriquez and Derek Jeter who were sitting across from each other but never said hello. Dave Annable of the hit ABC show Brothers and Sisters and his girlfriend Odette Yustman walking the red carpet hand in hand. Chris Rock arrived at TAO’s Super Bowl party asking for good friend Jamie Foxx, after learning he was not in the building he opted to sit with fellow funny guy David Spade until Jamie Foxx finally joined him and then they both jumped on the mic, with Chris Rock singing the Run DMC song line “I’m the KING of ROCK”. Kristen Cavallari was ecstatic after visiting the Motorola gifting suite by the pool at TAO’s pop-up Super Bowl party at W South Beach where she received her new Droid phone. After last week’s season premiere marking the show’s final season, “Lost” actor Josh Halloway attended TAO’s pop- up Super Bowl party at W South Beach’s Wet & Wall.

Santana is encouraging public donations through video messaging during his live performances of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits this month. Santana’s high-energy rock fusion show is currently playing exclusively at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

During his visit, Santana interacted with students from the Academy as well as select students from Cheyenne, Legacy, Mojave and Sunrise Mountain High Schools, imparting his wisdom during a joint inspirational address with his friend Andre Agassi. In collaboration with Santana’s visit to the school, and continuing in the spirit of supporting The Milagro Foundation, longtime licensees of Carlos Santana, PRS Guitars and Latin Percussion (LP) donated a PRS Santana SE electric guitar and a set of LP Santana Aspire series congas and shakers to the Academy’s music department. Like Carlos, both PRS and LP have enthusiastically partnered with local agencies and community organizations to inspire young musicians. Also, Sony Legacy Recordings who are releasing the 10th Anniversary edition of "Supernatural" have donated 700 copies of the most honored CD in Grammy History, Supernatural, to every student and faculty member in the school.
Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation is committed to assisting projects, schools and agencies that are working to support underserved children in developing college aspirations. Agassi Prep continues to achieve this goal with 100 percent high school graduation and college acceptance. “We applaud their efforts and are proud to be a part of this dream for the children of Las Vegas,” Shelley Brown, Executive Director, said. The Milagro Foundation is a publicly supported foundation established by Carlos Santana and his family in 1998.
