Henderson Events Plaza come down for all-ages CD release concert for "One Pin Short"

One Pin Short is a Las Vegas-based band that brings together different cultural backgrounds and musical influences to create a sound that mixes an island vibe with underground attitude. CineVegas will host “CineVegas Under the Stars” at the Springs Preserve, a new summer outdoor screening series to be held once a month for four months beginning Saturday, April 11. Featuring both new and treasured films, the screenings will be held at 8pm in the Spring Preserve’s outdoor amphitheater

The series will launch on Saturday, April 11 with YONKERS JOE, an exciting, high-stakes con film and moving family drama written and directed by Robert Celestino, and starring Academy Award-nominee Chazz Palminteri, Academy Award-winner Christine Lahti, Tom Guiry (THE BLACK DONNELLYS), Golden Globe-nominee Linus Roache, and Academy Award-nominee Michael Lerner. An ode to old time gamblers, now outdated in an age of powerful upscale casinos, YONKERS JOE tells the story of a dice hustler (Palminteri) whose determination to make one last grab for a big score in Vegas is complicated by the reappearance of his estranged, mentally challenged son into his life. This film is rated R and is not recommended for young children. The series will continue on Friday, May 15, Saturday June, 27 and Saturday, July 11, with film titles to be announced at a later date. Being a part of Chippendales was in a way a fluke; Jace was visiting Las Vegas and dancing in a club. A talent scout saw him and mentioned that they were auditioning in a couple of days. So was a lead Chippendale created!

The two dogs that he is the proud owner of are two wonderful Shiba Inu dogs. One named Nitro who is an amazingly beautiful two year old male and then there is the gorgeous Ice who is the female and will be turning two soon.

How did they come into your life? Well I got Nitro at the Indoor Swap Meet; he was really sickly with a green discharge coming from his nose. He was not really active was very listless. I was also injured, on workman’s comp and my heart just went out to this dog, I thought what better way to give back than to take this beautiful animal home and bring him back to health and give him a good home. As for Ice, when I started going back to work I thought Nitro might be lonely so one day I was looking for toys for Nitro and in the pet store there was a gorgeous cream colored Shiba Inu and something about her was special. At first I resisted the urge but now she is part of the family!

How much part of your life are they now? I find it hard to leave my house now that they are with me. Every chance I have I bring then to work with me here. They will sit up in the dressing room while I rehearse/ Sitting and talking with Jace revealed a very caring and compassionate dog owner and yes they do sleep with him! Also watch your socks around Ice, she will take them and hide them in her “special” space in the backyard! But seriously he would like every dog owner to spay and neuter their pets, and with 20/20 hindsight should he decide to bring another dog into his life it will be a rescue! He plans to work with the Shiba Inu rescue here in Las Vegas. Lola Belle says Paws Up for Jace!! XOXO Lola Belle

Sin City partiers were in for a special treat last night at PURE Nightclub as DJ Enferno worked his magic on the wheels of steel to keep the party pumped all night long. San Diego Chargers outside linebacker Shaun Phillips held court on the main stage with a small group of friends who sipped on Patron and enjoyed the sexy sights below them on the dance floor.

Close by, rapper Too $hort and singer/producer Ray J were spotted hanging out in separate parties and sipping on Grey Goose cocktails with their guests. Later in the evening, Ray J jumped on the mic to give shout-outs to PURE club goers. Also stopping in for a night cap was actor/comedian Bill Bellamy who was celebrating his 44th birthday with an entourage of friends in tow. Bellamy and his guests hung out at a luxe VIP table and mingled with the other celebrities in the house until the lights came on.

Less than one week after the thrilling NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals, drag racing fans will set aside their chocolate bunnies and jelly beans to converge once again on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the April 9-12 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series meet.

Courtney and Brittany Force, daughters of 14-time NHRA Funny Car Champion John Force, will compete in the 250-mph Top Alcohol Dragster (a.k.a. A-Fuel) ranks this weekend.

Brittany, 21, earned her NHRA A-Fuel license in February. Courtney, 19, competes in the Brand Source-sponsored A-Fuel Dragster owned and maintained by Jerry Darien. Brittany competed in last weekend’s NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at LVMS. She qualified 11th but was defeated in the first round by Utah’s Jeff Isbell.

Courtney also was trailered in the first round of eliminations, falling victim to Chris Demke. Both are hoping to bunny-hop past the first round of eliminations during the Easter Weekend speedfest and collect the coveted NHRA “Wally” trophy on Saturday. (The Wally trophy is named for NHRA founder Wally Parks and is the most prized of all drag racing trophies.)
