Headliner Frankie Moreno Brings New Show For His 500th Performance At The Stratosphere

In preparation for his 500th performance at the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower, Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno will debut a brand new show including new band members, new songs, and new choreography and special performances by Dancing With The Stars' Lacey Schwimmer in his critically acclaimed Frankie Moreno Live at Stratosphere beginning June 12, 2014 at 8 p.m.

Moreno is known for his unique and enthusiastic style on stage.  The singer, songwriter and showman is incorporating the changes to keep the show fresh for audience members and to tap into his own artistic pursuits. 

"I want to continue keeping audiences entertained and after 500 shows at the Stratosphere Theater, this is the perfect time to mix it up a bit," said Moreno. "I think the audience is really going to like it."

Changes include new songs written by Moreno and his song-writing team, brothers Ricky and Tony Moreno. The band will also debut four new members who, along with the entire band, will take a more active role in the performance by participating in choreography.  The dance and choreography aspects of the show are being directed by professional dancer and choreographer Lacey Schwimmer, who will also dance periodically during Moreno's performances. Schwimmer, who performed for six seasons on ABC's Dancing With The Stars program also danced during Moreno's performance on the popular show in 2012.

In case you are not familiar with the story the show opens on a Greek island where there is a wedding about to take place. Sophie is the bride and has been raised by her independent mother Donna. What is the catch? Well Sophie does not know who her real father is and stumbles across her mother’s diary. It must have been a summer of love because there are three possible fathers. Determined to find out who her father is, Sophie invites them all to her wedding. Of course her mother has no idea.

Also invited to the wedding are Donna’s two best friends, Rosie who is a low maintenance type of gal and her complete opposite Tanya who is botoxed to the nines and has had three rich husbands. A wacky family reunion along with the songs from ABBA how could you go wrong? Plus spoiler alert...the silver jumpsuits that Donna, Rosie and Tanya wear for their Donna & The Dynamos performance are OUTRAGEOUS! Picture a marriage between Vegas Elvis and Liberace.

In the end….well you need to see the musical to find out the end; but MAMMA MIA provides a fun wonderful night of a high energy performance that will have you satisfied with your choice of show. The vocals are amazing and the showroom has been revamped and has super comfortable seating!

FIZZ, the lavish new champagne bar and lounge at Caesars Palace, will be announced as a winner of the 10th annual Hospitality Design Magazine Awards held at the Grand Hyatt New York on Wednesday, June 4.  FIZZ was selected as the winner of the “Nightclub, Bar and Lounge” category from more than 400 entries around the world.

“FIZZ shimmers as a space that is simultaneously glamorous and relaxed while speaking of champagne's endearing qualities,” says FIZZ designer, Todd-Avery Lenahan. “Champagne has been brought forward as a key element of the design and is wrapped in the aura of Creative Director David Furnish and his partner, Sir Elton John. A visually exquisite concept designed by Lenahan, FIZZ invites guests on an artistically inspiring journey. Entering the intimate interior reveals a 23 foot-tall-ceiling, framed by an upper level overlooking the main floor. The palette of cognac, ivory and copper embrace the spirit of champagne, lending luxury and warmth to the atmosphere, finished in silk moiré and walnut. Oversized chandeliers hang from the ceilings, lighting the venue from the ceilings, above. Bronze glass, cream leathers, faux fur and cheetah print complete the palette that recalls the original interior fashions of Caesars Palace in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with a spirit entirely reimagined for today by Lenahan.

In a city where the world’s largest mega-clubs accommodate thousands of people simultaneously, FIZZ is a decidedly bespoke venue offering intimacy and unparalleled standards of service.  The chíc champagne bar and lounge even boasts avant-garde photography from Furnish and John’s private collection. The venue was chosen for the esteemed accolade by an anonymously juried party based on its beautiful infrastructure and captivating atmosphere.

Furnish and Lenahan, along with owners Michael Greco and Steven Kennedy, of FIZZ will accept the accolade at Hospitality Design Magazine’s award ceremony. Lenahan is an inductee of the prestigious Hospitality Design Platinum Circle, which recognizes lifetime achievement and contributions to the industry at-large. Lance Bass, radio host and ‘NSYNC alum, attended RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Six Finale Viewing Party last night at the new Tropicana Las Vegas. The event was held in the new Tropicana Las Vegas’ Havana Room and Beach Club where a live screening of the finale was shown. Following the finale all of the season six contestants took the stage for a spectacular performance.
