The M Resort's Pools Are All Ready For A Spectacular Season!

Known for its spectacular pool piazza and dynamic day club, M Resort Spa Casino gets ready to kick off Las Vegas’ vibrant pool season. The resort’s stunning main pool and entertainment complex, Villaggio del Sole, will open on Friday, April 25, while the intimate adult day club experience, DayDream, will open with a sneak peek on Saturday, April 26.

The following Saturday, May 3, will mark the official grand opening weekend of both pools.  The main pool will open at 10 a.m. with festivities from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. DayDream will kick off from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. with Las Vegas world renowned DJ Sandman on the turntables. In celebration of summer pool season 2014, both pools will offer guests all-day sun and fun, wondrous food and beverage offerings, exciting giveaways and more.

What’s New for 2014

This season, guests will find many new offerings at both of M Resort’s lavish pool retreats. In addition to the lush cabanas and daybeds at Villaggio del Sole, guests will now be able to rent two Penthouse Patios, each of which can accommodate up to 30 guests. These elevated VIP areas will offer a spacious lawn with lounge furniture, umbrellas and recreational game tables including beer pong and bean bag toss. Penthouse Patios start at $150 midweek and $250 on weekends. Additionally, the all-new Piazza Grille, a poolside café offering sandwiches, fresh salads and grilled entrees, will open on the resort’s main pool deck.

DayDream also has some exciting enhancements in store for guests this summer. In addition to upgraded VIP cabanas and daybeds, Las Vegas’ favorite daytime retreat has added a brand new Jacuzzi available for private group rental. The DayDream Party Jacuzzi package will offer a private covered patio with its own 22-person Jacuzzi, four flat screen televisions, lounge chairs, couch sets, a dining area and ice chest packed with beverages and assorted snacks. Starting at $2,000 and available on weekends only, the DayDream Party Jacuzzi can accommodate up to 35 guests.

Park on Fremont, located in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas, welcomed its “first birthday” Wednesday night with a one-year anniversary party. The eclectically chic gastropub celebrated with a packed house of Downtown Las Vegas business owners, industry executives and loyal patrons.

Local musicians Matt Matelko and The Jeremy Cornwell Project performed on the back patio. Guests sipped on Mumm champagne, Chain Breaker IPA, and Park on Fremont’s signature cocktails The Unicorn, Pillow Talk, and Red Sangria. Servers passed a variety of appetizers, including Mac & Cheese Balls, Chicken Wings, and Deep Fried Oreos and Girl Scout Cookies.

Enjoy The Show While You Can! Comedian George Wallace To End 10 Year Run At The Flamingo!

Comedian George Wallace has announced he will be ending his run of his highly popular “Best 10 PM” show in Las Vegas on April 26, 2014 after marking his 10-year anniversary at Flamingo Las Vegas last month.

Wallace, called “The New Mr. Las Vegas,” says he will continue to reside in Las Vegas.  “I will live here and forever call it home after these 10 years on the Strip,” explains Wallace. “It is a great city and one I have come to love and feel a real part of.”

His final show will be April 26, 2014 with one remaining week after he returns from a Pentagon assignment overseas entertaining the troops the week of April 15 – 19. His final performance dates will be April 10 – 12 and 22 – 26.

Wallace expects to do a little bit of everything while moving on from the 10-year run at Flamingo Las Vegas. “I may tour the world, the US, do some radio and television and continue to make people laugh and enjoy my life.  I am blessed and we will see what lies in store for me.  I am sure it will be fun and funny, meaningful and entertaining, and full of love and goodness.”

“I am grateful and appreciative for the opportunity Flamingo Las Vegas has given me over the last decade.  It has been an amazing run,” he says.  He is the only African American performer to have performed for such a duration on the Strip.  He came to Las Vegas for a 30-day run 10 years ago and kept getting his show extended.

“I want to thank the wonderful people of Las Vegas for welcoming me into their lives and city, Gladys Knight for bringing me here, the Las Vegas media for always being there to support my projects and causes, and the amazing fans who live in Las Vegas and the world over for making it possible for me to stay as a headliner on the Strip for over 10 years, isn’t that something?” Wallace shared.

“Flamingo Las Vegas is proud to have served as home to George for the past 10 years,” said Eileen Moore, regional president of Flamingo Las Vegas. “He has been such an important member of our family, and we will miss him very much. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Drop Off Your Completed Tax Return At Mandalay Bay Shark Ref & FREE Admission!!

For the 12th consecutive year, taxpayers are invited to drop off their federal tax returns at Mandalay Bay on Tuesday, April 15 in exchange for free admission to Shark Reef Aquarium.

From noon to 8 p.m., the Official Shark Reef Station will be conveniently located outside of Shark Reef Aquarium in the South Convention parking lot. Guests who mail their returns from this location will receive a voucher for one complimentary admission to the attraction valid through May 22.

USPS Post Office on Wheels clerks will be on site with postal scales and stamps for purchase to ensure proper postage is applied.

Convenient access to the Shark Reef Postal Station is available through the Mandalay Bay Convention Center parking lot located off Russell Road, near I-15.
