Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane will make a rare appearance displaying and dedicating her artwork at the Art of Music Gallery at The Mirage. She will introduce pieces in the Wonderland series including an exclusive piece designed for the Art of Music’s event “The White Rabbit’s Tea.” Other pieces that will be on display are portraits of fellow rockers such as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Eric Clapton and Jerry Garcia as well as scenes of Woodstock .
The General Public is invited to meet Grace at the art show on Saturday, May 23rd 7:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. Gallery Doors open at 9:00 a.m. daily. The Art of Music Gallery is located on the Retail Promenade inside The Mirage.

Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns tonight at Palace Station!

Santa Fe and The Fat City Horns, a staple in the Las Vegas music scene since the ’70s, will perform every Saturday night inside Bonkerz Comedy Club at Palace Station beginning May 2. The shows begin at midnight and there is no cover.
Numerous talented artists have joined this group on stage over the years including Kenny Loggins, Michael Ruff, Rocco Prestia and members of TOP, Bill Champlin of Chicago, Brandon Fields, members of Earth, Wind & Fire, Will Lee and Tom Scott, among others. The band is currently working on its first studio album and has already released two live albums.

A Taste of Shakespeare this week-end!

This Memorial Day weekend, the Springs Preserve becomes more dramatic than usual as it hosts the three-day A Taste of Shakespeare festival.
Six shortened Shakespearean plays will run continuously on two stages, one starting every half hour, from noon to 6 p.m. daily from Saturday, May 23 to Monday, May 25. Visitors can drop in and out of performances, sample a variety of local cuisines, taste fine wines, listen to live music, stroll the well-marked trails and visit the Preserve's gift shop, cafe and museums.
Presented by Dan Decker Theatricals in association with the Metro Arts Council, A Taste of Shakespeare will feature shortened versions of "Hamlet," "King Lear," "As You Like It," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Much Ado About Nothing." Music will be provided by members of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and Green Valley High School Orchestra.

Ken Norton, Jr., former NFL star and current assistant head coach for defense and linebacker coach for USC, was spotted with two guests at ghostbar, inside the Palms Casino Resort, last night (5.21.09). The trio sat on the patio enjoying the Strip view until nearly 3 a.m. At N9NE Steakhouse, Larry Johnson aka L.J., NFL Running Back for the Kansas City Chiefs, was joined by a group of ten guests for dinner. At Moon Nightclub, Hermes Franca, a Brazilian mixed martial artist and lightweight UFC contender, along with Jeremy Stephens, mixed martial arts fighter, were both in town for the fight this Saturday. They were joined by a group of eight friends and danced and talked for most of the night while drinking Ketel One Vodka. And that is who was at the N9NE Group hanging out!

Fremont Street Experience takes Las Vegas back 40 years this summer with the “Summer of ’69: Vegas or Bust” festival and concert series.
The summer-long celebration of the year 1969 begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend. The weekend will be highlighted by free concerts by The Guess Who on Saturday, May 23 and by Blood, Sweat & Tears on Sunday, May 24.
