This Memorial Day weekend, the Springs Preserve becomes more dramatic than usual as it hosts the three-day A Taste of Shakespeare festival.
Six shortened Shakespearean plays will run continuously on two stages, one starting every half hour, from noon to 6 p.m. daily from Saturday, May 23 to Monday, May 25. Visitors can drop in and out of performances, sample a variety of local cuisines, taste fine wines, listen to live music, stroll the well-marked trails and visit the Preserve's gift shop, cafe and museums.
Presented by Dan Decker Theatricals in association with the Metro Arts Council, A Taste of Shakespeare will feature shortened versions of "Hamlet," "King Lear," "As You Like It," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Much Ado About Nothing." Music will be provided by members of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and Green Valley High School Orchestra.
