The Year of The Dragon Roars Into The STRAT! Great Food And Entertainment!

 

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower with traditional dishes offered at CHĪ Asian Kitchen, a celebratory lion dance performance and more offered in honor of the Lunar New Year.

CHĪ Asian Kitchen, serving authentic and reimagined Asian dishes, will offer an array of traditional Lunar New Year dishes from Friday, Feb. 9 through Sunday, Feb. 11. With ingredients that symbolize prosperity, happiness, good fortune and abundance in the new year, selections will include Soup of the Sea, made with lobster, snow crab, scallops, shrimp, green onions and shiitake mushrooms, priced at $25; Peking duck salad with watermelon radish, cucumbers, mandarin oranges and almond ginger-plum vinaigrette, priced at $45; Shaoxing drunken chicken with baby bock choy, ginger sow, Huadiao rice wine and goji berries, priced at $33; and seafood hot pot made with scallops, shrimp, littleneck clams, black cod, lettuce, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, green onions and ginger garlic sauce, priced at $36. A festive cocktail, “Year of the Wood Dragon,” will be available, made with Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Haiken lychee vodka, yuzu, lime, strawberry and pink peppercorn reduction and aquafaba, priced at $13. The full menu will also be available.

The festivities will continue on The STRAT’s casino floor, where a traditional lion dance will be performed by Lohan School of Shaolin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. One of the most popular traditions during Lunar New Year, lion dances are believed to bring prosperity and good fortune for the upcoming year. Performers dance in extravagant lion costumes, which symbolize power, wisdom and superiority, and in celebration of the Year of the Dragon, a special 10-person dragon will be added to the performance.

Guests may try their luck and play for the chance to win free slot play, promo chips, dining credit, Tower admissions, show tickets and more during the money tree gaming promotion. Held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17, guests will receive a prize envelope for every 1,500 base points earned while playing their favorite games. Up to three envelopes may be earned.
