Full Schedule Of Events For Henderson Symphony Orchestra


For its 32nd year, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra will return for another ovation-worthy season in the heart of Henderson, beginning September 7. Directed by globally renowned Alexandra Arrieche, the extraordinary Orchestra is bound for another year of success with a lineup of performances inspired by cultures, music genres and “rock stars” throughout time and place.

“Throughout the centuries, composers were seen as rock stars of their time,” said Music Director and Conductor Alexandra Arrieche. “This season we will look at different music styles throughout the centuries and link the rock stars of classical music with rock stars of today.”

Boasting 80 volunteer musicians in each concert performance, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra provides nine concerts a year. For its 32nd season, the Orchestra will feature a unique variety of symphonies with three holiday performances and more. The full lineup includes:

Flamenco Flavors (Henderson Pavilion) – Flamboyant Flamenco marries folksongs, brilliant footwork and bold instrumental rhythms to make your heart race

October 19, 2018
Bolero for Billie Jean (Henderson Pavilion) – Pop goes classical with a modern tribute to the 19th century composer Maurice Ravel and his iconic “Bolero” and its relentless rhythmic spell

November 3, 2018
Veteran’s Day Concert (Henderson Events Plaza) – The Henderson Symphony Orchestra thanks its local and national veterans with a dedicated concert to those who’ve protected our country

December 6, 2018
Winterfest (Henderson Convention Center) – Be whisked away by a performance inspired by classical holiday spirit and the crisp winter weather

Masquerade Ball (Green Valley Ranch Resort) – A dazzling evening showcasing the world’s greatest waltzes, accompanied by a sumptuous dinner inspired by the repertoire

Young Artists Concert (Henderson Pavilion) – Be wowed by the winners of the 24th annual Young Artists Competition as they take the stage to perform with the Symphony’s amazing orchestra members

The Henderson Symphony Orchestra is Nevada’s only community symphony orchestra that has been performing for 32 continuous seasons, delivering on its mission to deliver an alternative symphonic experience to diverse audiences and to cultivate music appreciation and education. The Orchestra contributes to the cultural community of southern Nevada with a long tradition of providing free concerts and events to residents throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

The Henderson Symphony Orchestra is directed by the award-winning Alexandra Arrieche, who hand-picked and expertly composed all of the Orchestra’s performances. The Principal Conductor of Emmy Award Winner “Night of the Proms,” Arrieche will return to Henderson as the Conductor and Music Director for her third season. Arrieche started her musical studies by learning piano and voice before dedicating her career to conducting and composition. She has conducted music around the globe, from Spain to Sao Paulo, and has guest conducted the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, North Czech Philharmonic Teplice, Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico and the Baltimore Symphony.
