From the moon landings to the Mars One project, astronauts have become synonymous with adventure, exploration and endeavor. Discover what it takes to be a space explorer at Astronaut—the Springs Preserve’s new traveling exhibit on display daily 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the air-conditioned Origen Museum throughout the summer, June 12 – September 17.
Your adventure begins here on earth as you explore hands-on displays and interactive experiences such as:
· Donning your very own flight suit and taking a spin in our ‘centrifuge’ capsule.
· Climbing into a rocket and experiencing what it feels like to blast into space.
· Examining test rock samples for magnetism and radioactivity using a mock Geiger counter.
· Viewing footage of astronauts on board the International Space Station.
Locally, Astronaut appears only at the Springs Preserve in an exclusive, limited engagement. Astronaut was designed and produced by Scitech in Perth, Australia, and produced by Imagine Exhibitions, Inc. Astronaut is free for members or with paid general admission.
Monday, June 12 – September 17, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., daily
