Wild West Extravaganza & Blue Grass Festival: Pahrump is paying homage to its old west heritage during the Wild West Extravaganza and Blue Grass Festival. The family-friendly event features a youth rodeo, melodramas, an art show, a “shot gun” wedding and more. There will also be demonstrations through the day by a blacksmith, a spinner who will spin wool into yarn, and a doggie drill team by the 4H Dog Club.

Lake Spring Mountain Season Opening: Lake Spring Mountain will be opening for the 2017 season! Located inside of Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, enjoy a true desert oasis that features swimming, water sports equipment rentals, jetpack experiences, and more! The lake will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Day passes to the lake are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 17. A twilight pass between 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. is available for $10. Rentals for the water sports equipment are $15 for one hour and $20 for two hours.

Pahrump Valley Speedway: Race season is in full effect at the Pahrump Valley Speedway. One of the only clay-based, high-banked, quarter-mile dirt tracks remaining in the U.S., Pahrump Valley Speedway promises action and thrills galore. Bring the family for a day of racing and cheer on different classes of cars including Modifieds, Super Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Coupes, Bombers, Mod Minis, and more.

Tickets can be purchased at the speedway. General adult tickets cost $10 and children between 6 – 14 years of age are $6. Children age 5 and under are FREE. Family six packs are available for $30 (two adults and four kids under 14)

High Desert Film Festival: Celebrate the talents of the international and independent filmmaking community at the 11th Annual High Desert International Film Festival. Film categories in the competition include animation, comedy, drama, and horror/science fiction.

Thursday 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.; and Sunday 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
An all-access festival pass can be purchased for $150 or guests can purchase tickets to each screening for $3 at the door.
