Stress builds up when you are in the city. Whether from drivers cutting you off from being stuck in the wrong line at the grocery store. It all adds up and you can feel it in the tenseness of your neck and shoulder muscles and sometimes all over! Also your skin is bombarded everyday with pollution and grime. Stress can also have a huge effect on the appearance and texture of your skin. Thank goodness a “cure” from the stress and tensions of living in Las Vegas is only a little over an hour away in Mesquite Nevada.  

After a relaxing drive you have the choice to either self-park or use Valet at The Casablanca. No charge for parking and no charge for Valet! The entrance is wide and no jockeying for position or crazy lane changes at this front door. Just car door to front door service. If you are checking into the resort then valet is the way to go or if you are just using the spa services there is parking available on the south side near the spa. Once again short door to door walking distance.

We visited the spa for some pampering and the services were wonderful. Upon check in at the front desk you are given a locker key and a plush soft terry cloth robe. Just the act of getting undressed in a soft lit dressing room, as you take off the layers of clothing you feel as if you are peeling away layers of stress. AWW relaxation! They have a spa room complete with cushy soft chairs to snuggle up in or chaise lounges where you can stretch out and relax on. The room has magazines or you can simply nap between services. Be sure and hydrate! You can choose fresh spring water flavored with oranges, cucumbers or lemon.

My first service was a Body Scrub followed by a 50 minute Swedish massage. This Whipped Honey Scrub is the perfect pair alongside the massage. Imagine nice firm strokes exfoliating your dry winter skin. This scrub from Farm House Fresh has an amber-like scent with notes of clove and nutmeg combined with silky rice bran oil and the finest of salt grains to deliver soft skin like you’ve simply never felt before.  Heavenly and on the table I did fall asleep which is always a great way to tell if you are truly relaxed. After your scrub your masseuse then gently rinses away the scrub while you are in a state of bliss on the heated table. A truly decadent delicious experience. All of the Farm House Fresh products are organic and vegan and mostly gluten free.

Now for the massage…..such a wonderful experience. Have you ever had an experience where your massage was not truly relaxing? Maybe the pressure was to firm or not firm enough. Not here at the Mesquite Spa, Samantha worked on all of my problem areas and I could feel my neck and shoulder muscles relaxing under her firm strokes. Fifty minutes goes quickly when you are in such a blissful state and when Samantha said she was finished, I literally had to wake myself up! After waking up and hydrating I spent some time in the spa room. Stretched out on a chaise lounge fully relaxed and in nice warm terry robe, well the level of my contentment was off the charts.

Next on my services that day was a Cranberry Pomegranate Facial. I am a beauty junkie and love being introduced to new products. At the spa they use the Éminence Organic Skin Care line, which uses the finest natural, organic and biodynamic ingredients to provide you with the best organic skin care products in the market today. My estichican Carol started off my examining my skin. She then recommended a mixture of the following:
 
Acai firm skin cleanser - Antioxidant-rich acai berries are perfect for revitalizing mature skin. This cream cleanser also blends hyaluronic acid and seabuckthorn oil to restore the appearance of elasticity to the skin and present a more youthful look. Cruelty-free and formulated without parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, animal by-products, phthalates, GMOs and triclosan.

My skin was glowing after this specialized treatment! After a 10 hour plane ride and traveling stress my skin was still glowing a week later! Absolutely one of the best facials I have received in a long time. My husband Frank had a similar facial and his skin was healthy looking and glowing. Great service for a great price.
