Ice Skating Spectacular Shall We Dance Tix Now On Sale
Mandalay Bay and Disson Skating are pleased to announce professional dancer Tony Dovolani has been added to the cast of Shall We Dance on Ice coming to Las Vegas Sunday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Dovolani replaces Tristan MacManus who is out with an injury.
Dovolani was born in Prishtina, Kosovo and began Albanian folk dancing at age three after being inspired by watching Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly films. After immigrating to the United States as a political refugee from his native Kosovo at age 15, Dovolani trained at a Connecticut Fred Astaire dance studio and eventually became one of the most dominant competitive dancers in the country.
A two-time world dance champion, Emmy-nominated choreographer, and certified world judge, Dovolani brought his expertise to Hollywood when he coached Jennifer Lopez, Richard Gere, and Stanley Tucci for the 2004 film “Shall We Dance,” in which he also had a small role. He then joined ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” for its second season and captured our attention with partner Stacy Keibler, when the two placed third in the finals. During the “Dancing with the Stars: All-Star Season,” season 15, Dovolani and dance partner Melissa Rycroft won the show and took home the Mirrorball Trophy. Dovolani co-founded Dance With Me USA Dance Studios in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Los Angeles and Houston. Dovolani also is a guest correspondent for “EXTRA.”
Shall We Dance on Ice will showcase a journey of dance through the ages with dancing, ice skating and music. The show will also feature a live musical performance by the Goo Goo Dolls, who recently released their new album Boxes. The show will feature top ice dancers and professional dancers who have choreographed numbers to the Goo Goo Dolls’ music.
Tickets priced at $39.50, $49.50, $74.50 and $99.50, plus service charges and taxes, are available now and can be purchased at any Mandalay Bay ticketing outlet, online at mandalaybay.com and AXS.com, or by phone at (702) 632-7580.
The cast features the most decorated ice dancing team in U.S. figure skating history, 2014 Olympic Champions, two-time World Champions and six-time U.S. Champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White. Following the Olympics, Davis and White competed in the 18th season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars where Davis was crowned champion and White was a semi-finalist.
The three professional dancers joining Dovolani are Dmitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower, and Anna Trebunskaya.
The magical night will be hosted by Robert Herjavec, the star of ABC’s “Shark Tank” and a former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant. He will be joined by 1992 Olympic gold medalist and former “Dancing with the Stars” champion Kristi Yamaguchi.
